Outstanding presentation helpful to beginners as well as more experienced anglers. Especially find the seasonal information to blade combinations really helpful. Videos really become a reference basis for all of us who love to throw spinnerbaits. Thanks.

I've always liked the Terminator spinner blade. I dont know what U'd call it. But I like that you can feel it thumping thru the water like a chatterbait...

Great info as always! Curious to know your thoughts about whether or not to use a trailer on a spinnerbait in lakes such as Lake Norman NC.

When you say trailer, do you mean trailer hook or a plastic trailer?

Years ago Heddon introduced a spinnerbait named a twin pal...These twin spin spinnerbaits work really well with different blades working in tandem meaning say a colorado working beside another colarado blade to call fish...Now the "Tomahawk" blades you mention were actually designed by a angler called Doc Shelton and traditionally they were used in trout trolling and placed in a single line "CowBell", style...Gambler cottoned onto the idea and produced a spinnerbait with 3 blades spinning in line, usually size 3, 4, and 5 which spins on top...Now if you make a twinspin and actually fit Doc Shelton blades side by side you will have a great bass lure in hand.. Regards B.J. B.J's Custom Baits Australia.... P.S. Rabbit Fur Zonkers also work well as a skirt especially on shy fish...

Awesome stuff have you ever fished the trickster spinnerbait made by Rick Klunn they sell em on tackle warehouse I was thinking of picking a few up but I already have enough spinnerbaits as it is 😬.

I hate to make you spend more money but you definitely should. I have fished them and they are great. They really have a lot of thump!

Have you tried the luck-E-Strike Rick Clunn spinner bait? It has a long drop blade that Clunn designed. Just wondering. It’s the one he won St. Johns River with it in 2019. I bought a couple but haven’t tried them yet. Michigan still iced out😢
@BassFishingHQ3 жыл бұрын
Yes and it is a great bait with a great thump. Another subscriber asked me the same thing and it is a great lure. Rick Clunn really put it on the map with that win

Willow, Colorado, or Indiana they don't matter. Timing and location like locating fish and being at the right place at the right time are far more important because you can't catch fish if they aren't in front of you.
@BassFishingHQ3 жыл бұрын
I believe that more than anything. You can throw the wrong bait in the right place and still get bit. But sometimes throwing the right bait in the right place, can mean a few extra bites. Thanks for watching

Very true. I've had baits hit the water & get nailed b4 i retrieve it Or the bass can even see what it was....

I almost exclusively fish spinners in the creek and river , I got started on that throwing beetle spins as a teenager in a Small creek we would canoe down , there was a ton of small bass in there a Orange Craw Colored Beetle spin was the ticket , spring summer or fall , from there I used the ole Famous Yellow Sally and I used the Double Spinner H&H ALOT , depending on Condition of the water I'd throw a yellow, Yellow and black or White ,, the Pascagoula River near the confluence of the Leaf and Chicksaway Rivers , several creeks as tributaries some Are not Navigable streams , private property now limits access to most of these that I fished 35 to 40years ago , but the Rivers are still Good ,I've caught Several Stripers which is not found ALOT in this system , one 11 one 9 and several between 2 and 5 pounds over the years , always on the upper points of sandbars or near a sandbar and a creek or fork ,Every one of those I caught was on a white spinner bait ,, From there Large Mouth or Spotted ,or Somme Call them Alabama bass ,we don't have Small Mouth here , nor do we have the white bass run either but I sure wish we did. , Great Content 👍👌🐟🎣🤠🇺🇸

Tanic/tea brown water equals Golden luers. Crystal clear water equal silver luers. Choppy water equals hammered lures. Cloudy water equal painted lures. Muddy water requires color and Flash. I'm just an amateur but this is what I know works. Now let's see if you can stick to the rules and give me information that I don't know.

Time out time out time out you just made a major mistake there if you put an Indiana blade in front of a Colorado blade what you are going to get is two blades striking each other constantly as Willow blades spin really narrow and Colorado blades swing as wide as possible providing the most thump. So if you're going to put multiple blades on your spinnerbait you start with the smallest Colorado then you move to an Indiana and finally a willow at the tail even if you're only going to use two spinners out of that lineup and put them on in that combination specifically which is why I have no number three or number five Willows. The only time I would ever use a number three or number five Willow in front is when I'm also using a Willow in the back. The flatter the blade the slower it will spit because the wider it will spin and of course the wider the blade The Wider it will spin and the stronger it will thump. so I suggest that you give a little bit more of an answer than the one you just gave because it makes no sense what you just told us to build was a hammertime spinner. Yes hammertime Spinners do work but even the professionals use a piece of all thread when they're making those because they need to be tuned so that they work just right. You made a big mistake when you said Hatchet spinner because you are now attempting to tell people to build the most difficult spinner in the world to make and that sounds to me like a hatchet job since you're picking the words and all. Don't get me wrong I can do what you have said and get it right without having the blades strike each other by modifying the amount of dish in each blade and only because I've got a 20 gallon long tank I can watch the thing spin. As a matter of fact I purchase the 20 gallon long tank just so that I could figure out how to make a hammer time spinner because in my area the river gets rather muddy just about the time I want to go out steelhead fishing and the water is under 50 degrees. So a hammer time Hatchet and Indiana sounded really good I was thinking an orange Tomahawk with a gold Indiana and a white hoochie with a Shad drag tail.
