I have designed and manufactured spinnerbaits years ago. I absolutely love the Megabass SV 3. The head is designed to keep the bait from rolling when you burn it. I got pounded about the stiffness of the wire when everyone was making thinner and thinner wires. My bait retailed for $3.50 and everyone bitched about that. This Megabass bait is as close to perfection as a spinner bait can be.

Sorry, you are right, I didn't see the entire post because to do so stopped the video I am watching. I doubt you threw the detailed spinnerbait in the same spot. That's a big difference too. I will admit I don't have that kind of visibility either. The 200 acre lake is best in the fall at less than three feet. The other spring fed lake about 30 miles away is gin clear but it's silt bottom and I can only see as far as I can push a bait down with my rod. It's too dark to see the bottom and it max depth it 70 feet. I don't throw real flashy baits in those conditions (except traps). If you believe it makes a difference, go for it.

I started fishing the SV3 last year and I am going broke due to buying all of the weights/colors available. They have quickly replaced all of my other spinner baits except for a handful of terminators. Great channel and content. Always look forward to your videos.

I will have to give these a try. I would love to add another spinnerbait to my arsenal. war eagle and spotsticker have been my go to for spinnerbaits. war eagle has been good to me in dirty water with largemouth. spotsticker has been good in more clear water and they catch giant spots.

I agree. I got a few and my favorite color is the white python. I love the megabass lures and really love there paint schemes. They are hands down my favorite lure company. Just there attention to detail can't be matched. U can really tell they try to produce quality over quantity. I'll continue to b a big fan of megabass.

Lots of enthusiasm from you on this. I actually stopped using R bend spinnerbaits back in the late 80's after they regularly broke while fighting big smallest. The vibration of the upper arm seemed to weaken the wire in the R. The twisted eye baits, if they broke, would break above the line tie and allow you to still land the fish. .035 wire

I have have been trying some of your tips. The skinny Senko today worked good in shallow trees. The vibrating Mega bass lipless using over three weeks one over three 4 or 5 around 2. Bigger blades in dirty water another 3 lb behind a sunken laydown next to bluff in 1 ft visibility. There are more I am someone getting back into fishing after a 12 year lay off.

Dink Mendez makes a good one out here in California under the rodstrainer name, but I will agree the megabass is the most finished and package to cast ready bait. I love the hook especially. The rodstrainer has tremendous retrieve variation trueness. Both great baits.

My wife and I were in Maine this past August for a week long fishing trip. She threw a 1/2 oz SV3 for the whole week, Nothing else... she caught at least 100 SMB and LMB (and a few chain pickerel) on that one bait. I did not have to straighten it out at all! It ran true the whole week. I also used a SV3 quite a bit, and that also ran true the whole week with no adjustments needed. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it. I would have gone through a bunch of Revenge and Strike King otherwise, which means it's actually cheaper to buy the more expensive spinnerbait. Love the SV3's!

I watch your videos everyday, and Fish The Moment. I have got several lake map breakdowns from you and Johnny as well. I enjoy them very much. I like the Megabass SV3 spinnerbait as well. The Accent 3 blade is a strong competitor, honestly, I like the Accent better. The negative is its a very light wire and you will got through 2-3 in a day when they are on a spinnerbait. Saying that I believe that is what makes them get bites more.

I was reading about this bait on the retrieve if you stop it gives a nice presentation to the bass different from any other spinner bait have u seen this Randy I look forward on a retrieve video because it sounds like this ain’t no normal spinner bait. Well Randy, is one my favorites to fish of all time. I river fish 80 percent of the time. I've fished spinnerbait over 40 years. Best outta of the package, for me where I fish, would be strike king kvd spinnerbait, with his signature on willow blade. 3/8, and 1/2 once are ones I use. They track straight good components for 7 dollar spinnerbait, for the money #1, then covert Jason Cristie booyah also a good one for package spinners. I've never fished the LV3 by meggabass, but I will soon, ordering some this week! Stay tuned.....

I have a bunch of the old flat strand hammered blade spinnerbaits. I think they're hildebrandts. I always find myself tying those on. Baits with good 3d eyes are never a bad idea though

Typically use Strike King burner, War Eagle 3/8 to 1/2 oz tandem willow leaf, but stumbled across Lunker Hunt kracken with number 4.5 Colorado blade trailing a small willow leaf-had to change the swivels, but wow. Will give your bait a try.

Before I saw this video I found these spinnerbaits and a sportsman shop and started fishing them this summer. I have been fishing spinnerbaits my whole life and the only thing I didn't like was that the arm would fall off after catching 20 fish or so on them . This one is amazing and the only time I've had an issue was when I got a birds nest and cast it off into the lake . Sad moment lol

Mega Bass 3/8oz SV-3 and Terminator double willow has always been my go to for spinners. They just make good stuff! Terminator’s used to be better but they are still pretty good. Anything Mega Bass are normally great built baits that tend to hold up over time, their price reflects that too lol, but if it’s worth it it’s worth it!!

Couldn’t agree more. I think the Megabass SV3 is the best spinner bait. It has all the right components and it’s more of a compact spinner bait in my opinion. I think the other spinner bait that comes close to this one has to be Strike Kings Premier Plus Colorado Willow spinner bait. It doesn’t have the thicker silicone skirt but it does extent out and it has a great pulsating action to it. I always use the 3/8oz on 12lbs floro with a MH rod. Hands down SV3 all the way chartreuse and white is my favorite go to color.

I have a book by Jimmy Houston on Spinnerbait fishing. I think it was published in 1975. He says to start every new day with a fresh bait to avoid breaking them. Bass fishing is expensive, a wire Spinnerbait frame and hook can be had for less than $2 from any lure components supply house. I love Spinnerbaits and almost never fish without having one on the deck, probably caught more fish on one than any other bait.

That titanium wire just had a different action and vibration in the water that others just don't have. Not to mention that the titanium wire didn't get wrecked when you caught fish on em. I'm down to 2 that I have left. I keep buying the new stainless ones to rob blades and parts off of. Lol.

Nice looking bait. I pore paint and tie all my own Spinnerbaits, Bladed Jigs, Buzzbaits and Jigs. For Spinnerbaits I can use light wire, catch 3 fish on it throw the frame out and reuse the components and be out like a dollar. Spinnerbait is one of the best lures ever invented and I probably have caught more bass on one than any other bait!

Mainly fish them at night... for night fishing, you need the thinner wire for vibration... I make my own from wire stock from a company that used to make them. Top Secret!!!! lol

My dad made spinnerbaits for 50 yrs and i have made them for 20. There is a pla e for baits like this. The thing i dont like about most spinnerbaits is the size of most. Most are entirely too bulky, imo. Good to see they are using Samp swivels. The best swivel we have ever used. Great company to do buisness with.

Spinnerbaits are good tools Roland Martin used to say if he could only have one bait to fish it would be a spinnerbait.From the past to the present they have been made in a million different shapes and sizes. Different geographic locations seems to prefer their own favorite type. After trying to keep up with all the new and trendy baits I have been throwing a bladed jig in its place. I love throwing spinnerbaits and after watching your video I may have to pick them up again in the spring. They can cover the hole water column from top to bottom. They are one of favorite baits to fish at nighttime on Dale Hollow. A 1oz Stan Stone in black or purple with a big Colorado blade is a good choice . Randy what does megabass offer to fit this application ?

This bait was so good because if the wire would never break and always return back to the R shape. They last forever, Im happy I have about a dozen of them. Do you remember fishing them?

That spinnerbait looks beefy and looks like it would last a long time.....but when it comes to getting bites I can't help but rely on my limp wired/sloppy headed War Eagles. They don't last forever, and they require some maintenance, but man they sure do get the bites.

The best spinnerbait I ever used was the Bomber Bushwacker (1970's model). Now out of all I have tried, the War Eagle is the best in my opinion. That information is worth just what you paid for it. Detail on baits catch fishermen, not fish. That head design would make a great swim jig. BTW, no way an I paying $15 bucks for a spinnerbait.

@@dontnonowuno9953 I paint my own crankbaits and we have tested same colors, some with heavy detail and some without, same set up, same retrieve. out of the same boat, changing front and back. It makes no difference. The lake I fish the most has heavy pressure. The state record of 18.15 was caught there and the lake is only 200 acres.

@@N5KDA fishing a crankbait using deflection ,speed,and sound to spur fish into a reaction bite is not the equivalent of slow rolling a spinner bait in 20 ft of visibility. I fish the war eagle as well,it's one of my favorites,but I can make two hundred casts in clear water with a war eagle or a Revenge(detailed) and the latter will outproduce it 5:1. obviously the blade size ,time of year, and species of bass make a difference..I have my 40 years of experimentation as well 😉
