Dude I just tried serato & was blown away at how bad it was - it could do drums fine but everything else was staggeringly awful, utterly unusable. MPC stems has been decent so far but it's still new & needs some fine tuning - I'll have to look into this option now because this sounds wildly on point, good lookin out fam

Nice man, impressive!! But...can you do this test with a track that has vocals in it? It's then when you heard the "artifacts" in the stem seperation. If it still sounds that clean with seperated vocals, then it's def a game changer!

Hi Rob, I tried FL's stem Seperation, very honestly I wasn't happy with the results. I tried quite a few songs, the best results that I got was from Stem Roller and RipX. One thing I noticed though for different songs and instrumentions some work better than other, happens almost all the times.

I've found VirtualDJ 2023 with Sonible Deess can make the cleanest stem separation using stems 2.0 technology. The vocals are by far the best out of them all.

I think the only reason FL's stem separation is better than most is because it's being compared to other plugins that don't have AI assistance. When compared to another AI assisted stem separation app, Steinberg's Spectralayers does a better job, separates more parts and gives you more control over the quality. I have'n't seen a single video on this point.

Some songs separate easily. Some, not so much. Moises does a good job with most of the songs, but not all. A tough separation is when the guitar and bass are playing the same notes like in a heavy rock riff. A good demo would show a side-by-side audio comparison using a song that doesn't separate well on another platform.

Is there a good cheap but simple stem separation software i can get thats good for cassette instrument/vocal separation? Im new with this stem separation technology but can remix some amazing old tape recordings of bands rehearsals or shows, demos, ect,, ive been in through the years & finally hear each part!! Im trained in multitrack recording and all that, just need to dive into this stem tecn & do it the simplest yet effective way avaliable!

Yea it’s alright , it’s been a little hit and miss in my experience as far as fragments and unwanted sounds remaining (in my experience only) I’ve had about equal if not slightly better luck with current serato for a nice clean separation of a bass or drum ect. Again this is just my experience lately not claiming it to be factual 🫡

@@no1semach1ne Gotcha. In my experience it blows Serato out of the water in terms of clean separation. Haven’t yet tried the FL beta. But Rip X is expensive. I figure many more folks will take advantage of the tech if it’s available in their favorite DAW or sampling / DJ software.

Models ported to work with UVR are the best, there's no question, you can come close at times with Izotope Rx, or Rip X from another company, but they're probably just using the same.. math or whatever.. frequency selecting, its not AI, i doubt any of it is. its not smart and going oh thats drums, those sounds needs to be on the drum track, the whole AI term needs to fk off.
