Wow, you convinced me with just your words rather than an actual demonstration! I demonstration would give viewers a visual aid of the product using by using a heat gun to show the temperature of the flame & temperature of the heat shield surface with an object on the other side, showing how much the object heats up given the known factor of 90% less heat being transferred to an object directly behind the heat shield. Without data to support evidence it's just someone with another opinion.

Great product for the inside of a boat engine cover. You will need to make sure the area you are sticking this too is semi smooth. Some boat engine covers are sort of an unfinished fiberglass and the adhesive will struggle to stay one. You will also want to make sure you use the provided edging tape to keep the fiberglass paper from getting dirty.

Hi guys, are we using this under the car or inside? I have Dynamat inside and the car is very hot around the tunnel. Before I put my custom carpet in, which is a huge job based on importing this carpet to Australia, I’d like to do something for now. I have tried a pee, and stick, competitor brand above my C4 transmission and it seperated. Didn’t notice any real reduction in heat. Is my main problem the sound deadening? It’s hot. Like a hot bitumen road.

Thank you for your comment. The Sticky Shield is meant to face the heat source. So in 99% of the cases you will want this product under you car facing the exhaust or transmission. The sound deadener is just that sound deadener. It only stops very little heat coming through the floors. Another product you may want to check out is our Stealth Shield which is meant to be installed inside the car above the sound deadening material. What sizes do they come in off the shelf? Can you use magnets to place on side of refrigerator so it can be easily removed when stove (heat source) is not in use?

So i just found out the florida heat combined with the heat from my exhaust pipes are causing the gas in my tank to boil!! on my 70 roadrunner with a stock layout, I tested the external temps on my tank and we were at 126 degrees F. So i want to wrap the sides of the tank and the back to help. Will the auto stuff help, hopefully to outside temp? Also do you have a recommended sizes in the self adhesive. W

Thank you for your question. To answer your question, yes you can shield your tank from heat. There are several sizes on the website. www.heatshieldproducts.com/hp-sticky-shield Normally you would use a radiant barrier such as Sticky Shield to protect something you want to keep cool from radiant heat caused by an exhaust pipe, turbo, transmission, and even engine heat. Normally you shouldn't see your fuel boil in the tank unless it is very close to an exhaust, or you have an external pump that is soaking up heat. If this is the case, you can shield the tank or insulate the heat source near the tank. In our experience the fuel is normally boiling closer to the engine caused by a header or exhaust manifold near the fuel line (smaller surface area and easier to boil) or up near the carb from engine heat. We just bought a pellet stove for our screened-in porch. When purchased I had to go on line for the manual. Whoop! I discovered that both the base and the top need to be shielded from wood, which it is not. It sounds like your product might be what we need. Please advise.

Thank you for your comment. This type of heat shield will not make the engine hotter. Sticky Shield is meant to be put on the cool side of something to keep it cool. Think firewall, hood, floor, etc. I do notice from your name and your channel you work on Vespas. Are you thinking about putting some Sticky Shield on the engine cover?

@@Heatshieldproducts thanks for your reply! Yeah, I was going to put it between the engine and the seat (the inside of the frame). The engine gets toasty after running a while, the side panels get warm and just wanted a barrier to keep those cool as the rider (me) touches those as they get on and off the scooter.

That is a great question. With the aluminum top if you go past 45 degs the material wants to start working it's way flat so Sticky™ Shield may not be the best choice here. You could cut it into smaller pieces so it relieves the shield and use the provided edging tape to seal the cuts. You can also look at putting a sleeve on the steering column. Such as a Thermaflect Sleeve with hook and loop closure or you could use some Lava™ Shield around the column. I’m out at my 85 inch flatscreen TV on my fireplace. Unfortunately it is about 8 inches above the fireplace from the bottom. I was thinking about putting some of this stuff on the bottom of my television. Do you think it would work?

It sure can and that is why we only recommend that in extreme cases. However when you are looking at surface area, having a large uncover metal space vs. a few screws with flat washer... we are siding with the few washers.
