Easy to use? I don't think so. How will you do when the engine is in place?

This video would really help if you would put down in the description what the product is called and where to buy it

I have seen many sport car builds on YT for years and a few times I told people to really take the time to fabricate or rebuild their fire wall ,even if it"s only for track...but for your fav car as a daily ,you want to be in complete control of your engine bay heat(especially for Turbo cars)...as I was searching for DIY stuff ,I came along MORGAN British cars older builds ,and these guys were using wood(specific walnut wood) also for their chassis ,and it a super way to do it and so efficient ,too many swap and built cars are somehow useless as a daily or for long road trips because of heat/over heating and noise problems ,just like the Ultima builds with no windows..terrible..!!!

Is it good to sound insulate the engine?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Hi Ferenc Nagy. Yes, it will offer some sound insulation, however it's main design feature and use is to reduce heat transfer
@rocker1120114 жыл бұрын
Would it work the same if I put it on the inside of the car on the firewall. Since I don't want it visible In the engine bay
@carbuilders14 жыл бұрын
It will reduce heat but not nearly as effectively as if it is facing the heat source. We are about to post a video of hiding heat shielding with a '56 Customline as we understand the desire of not making it visible. 👍

I'm not getting this , is in the cabin on the firewall ( replacing firewall pad) or in engine compartment in firewall ? Or does it matter ? I would imagine reflective side towards heat source , so no good inside cabin on firewall ? Help me out here fellas ?
@carbuilders14 жыл бұрын
Hi SV. You're right, any heat shield is going to be far more effective facing the heat source on the exterior side. You will find that vehicle manufacturers will also use a needle punched fibreglass with a polyester core and aluminium face (very similar to our Peel & Stick products) internally with Ford using it in the foot wells of the F-250 etc.

@@carbuilders1 gotcha , I guess like Dynamat . It has adhesive side down but on adhesive still contacts reflective material . Great stuff for a racing car tho !! Be safe

Can this be used to replace a heat shield for headers?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
It can't be applied directly to the header, the product has been designed to adhere to the surface you are trying to protect. 👍

Never thought I would look forward to watching heat shield vids. I understand silver reflects best but is it available in black or a darker colour. Great vids mate.
@carbuilders14 жыл бұрын
Haha. Thanks mate. We are looking to bringing them out in black, an issue is that they don't deliver as good heat results. In a current video we are doing, we have put the heat shielding in places that are less obvious but provide great results such as the above headers and muffers. Video should be out in the next week (I'm putting the pressure on)

Hi, is this product available in Germany?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernhard. We currently don't have a European retailer. We can ship lighter items from Australia (such as the heat shields and underlay foams) If you email us at sales@carbuilders.com.au we can provide a quote. For our heavier items (deadener and Mass Loaded underlays) ANR Perfomance stocks our products in Dubai (Anees Jebreen ) and they can ship them at more reasonable shipping costs to Europe.

Hey guys I'm looking at putting something in the cabin as the cars on the road I was thinking around the foot well and the tunnel of the gearbox ? Can this be applied inside the car and not out side?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. It's going to be most effective facing the heat source. If you are putting a heat shield externally heat facing you won't need to add it internally rather you can just focus on sound proofing materials, which will also act as a decoupling layer for heat. 👍

When I drive I feel the heat burning 🔥 my feet from my floorboard and NOONE believes me-I tell people it’s like I’m being electrocuted from my floorboard
@vociferonheraldofthewinter2284 Жыл бұрын
I believe you and I don't understand why no one else does. One of three things might be happening. 1. You have a loose wire somewhere and you actually are being electrocuted 2. It could be intense heat coming through from the engine. They do sell heat resistant mats you could get hold of to test that theory. Heck, you could get a roll of car insulation and cut out your own mats. See if that helps. I wouldn't recommend this product for the test, though. 3. Nobody believes you because you've got a pinched nerve in your lower back and you really are the only one feeling it when you're in that particular position. I'm not joking. I just had spinal surgery three weeks ago. For about two years I was complaining that I couldn't use my recliner because it felt like I was being tazered in the butt and hip. I couldn't sit through a two hour movie without screaming and jolting out of my chair. And it ONLY happened in that chair. Dude. I actually ripped the back out because I thought there was something inside it. Then it started happening when I was laying on my back in bed and THEN I began to feel 'phantom stones' wedged under my toes. That's when I realized that my poor spine was really confused and sending signals from crossed wires to my brain. I had four blown discs and had lost two inches in height without realizing it. For the longest time my family thought I was crazy. Hell, I thought I was going crazy for awhile there. Good luck, buddy. I feel you. Bodies are dumb.

Your explanation that the Al will grab the heat and hold onto it (i.e. a heat sink) is totally wrong. The thermal capacity (product of the specific heat and the mass) is very low. The Al works by reflecting the radiant heat and the backing acts as an insulator.
