Hi, I wanted to make this recipe as soon as I discovered it. The problem is that here in Italy we don't have strawberry cake mix, is there a substitute for that? 🌸thanks

You could use a regular vanilla cake/butter cake mix. And just combine a cup or two of fresh, mashed strawberries in the batter. Or a strawberry pie filling would probably work too.

I'm so glad you gave them a try and I'm glad to hear your neighbor enjoyed them as well! 🤗 You actually don't have to use 2 boxes to make them chewy one box will still be fine, I just like to use 2 boxes to give them more height ❤️

You can however from experience it can lead to overmixing which causes the egg whites to fluff up and make the brownies taste “Cakey” I personally use a danish dough whisk.

Someone else suggested not doing this but perhaps add a couple blended strawberries to your glaze?
