The shim is a thrust washer "bearing" to keep the poly from binding and making your NVH.

Thanks for another excellent video! Suggestion: Future video discussing camber itself and the practical examples of your daily & your track car. How they are setup from the factory and various camber changes you have made to them over time with pros/cons, etc.

I've just pulled out the Track bearing tops and put in the Street tops and I am not impressed with the reduction in camber plate noise. There is marginal improvement over the "bag of golf clubs under the bonnet" noise from the track mounts. I thought they'd be relatively silent in operation but with OEM EDC dampers this is simply not the case. Very disappointed for the extra spend on these!
@FaRKle00793 ай бұрын
The baseline/road noise isn't going to be a big improvement with the street over the spherical bearing version, but you won't have to worry about the spherical bearing developing play and causing clunking/tapping noises. If you're still hearing clunking/tapping noises, then they weren't coming from the camber plates in the first place.

@@FaRKle0079 thanks for the reply 👍 have you heard of factory EDC dampers causing any kind of audible rattle? Everything else is totally buttoned up and torqued to spec in the suspension area. Dampers are about 40k miles old

I’m stuck between vorshlag and millways for my f22. Looking for something that’s similar to oem that I could throw some camber on!

If it's a weekend and fair weather car, go Vorshlag, else Millway.
@M3fahrer4 ай бұрын
With the 60mm adapter will these work with KW clubsport coilovers? I assume I could remove the KW top hat and have the kw helper spring mount to the 60mm adapter.
@FaRKle00794 ай бұрын
It might. The reason I say that is it depends on how low the spring perch on the KWs can go. The adapter on top of the stock top mount thrust bearing might eat up some of the room KW intended their spring to fill. So you'd either have to lower the spring perch on the strut, or possibly use a shorter spring to compensate. Another thing to check for is the right nut needed to secure the damper to the camber plate if that differs.

For my F80 which I drive often but also do track from time to time, would you recommend these over Vorschlag ?

Thank you for the review. Any idea if these will work with MCS coilovers that use 2.25” springs?
@FaRKle0079 Жыл бұрын
These plates aren't ideal for MCS since they use the OE thrust bearing. You'd need some kind of adapter to neck down the OE spring ID to the 2.25" springs MCS uses. If you had that they'll work fine.

Hey, i bought Millway street plates for my F22 with ST XA coilovers, but they made excessive noise on small road details. You posted a video about SPL LCA's, i drive 25.000KM per year and attent 3-5 track days, which one should i go with? LCA or camber plates? Thanks!
@FaRKle0079 Жыл бұрын
I'd do camber plates over LCA since they give you a lot more adjustment. I'm surprised your MIllway street plates made noise.

@@FaRKle0079 Mine are also making noise, on bumpy, or uneven road, also forums say the same issue. I have 440iX F36, with KW DDC suspension. Once changed the top mounts, noise is very annoying with alot of clunk noise, when the shock travel down, im still searching the reason for it.

Hi and thanks for video! I've street camber plates from Millway for m4 strut brace adn install them on f20 with KW Var1 shock. And my front axle is too low and it can't be helped with shock height set up. It is in highest possible position and wheel (quite standard 17) hitting arch on turning. Can something be set up wrong in plates, or those are too deep in shock mount position? Thanks!
@FaRKle0079 Жыл бұрын
Did you transfer the thrust bearings from the oe top mounts to the millway plates? This sounds like the springs are too short on your coilovers.
@c4se Жыл бұрын
@@FaRKle0079 Yes, I did. Regarding springs - yes, I'm thinking about spring helper which will add some height to front spring total length. Thanks for your suggestion - it helps me a lot. Great content anyway - I've subscribed to your channel.

So you like these better then vorshlog? I thought you were running and recommended vorshlog?
@FaRKle0079 Жыл бұрын
If you're building more of a track car, or need higher camber I definitely recommend the Vorshlag. For a mostly street car though, these are my go to recommendation.

@@FaRKle0079 thank you for the reply. May I ask why? I ask because I put a ton of miles on my f80…comp both long street trips and now likely monthly track days. I had ground control which gave me nothing but problems. I ended up going back to stock out of frustration with them. I guess I’m looking for longevity over aggressive adjustment, but also need enough adjustment to put a 275 nitto up front. I remember you saying your friends millway failed in 10k miles… that’s 6 months for me.
@FaRKle0079 Жыл бұрын
@@gixxerhoff7502 The Millway street have been reliable since they don't use a spherical bearing like the ones that failed on my friend's car. Their PU material will soak up road noise a bit better than a spherical bearing will, and will never be prone to contamination and loosening like a spherical bearing. It's better resistant to dust/grime/water. For your case, it sounds like the Millway street might be a better option
