7:15 the maximum power is 3KW which is 3000W, not 300,000W. 3KW = 13A. This is the same as a standard plug top fuse in most appliances, which can be plugged into a normal socket (in the UK).

Yes they are 3kW (3,000w not 300,00w) and can take upto 1500 Watts per line and yes you can use a standard plug in a normal socket for each item, Except most of the Pond equipment doesn't come with a Plug attached and also a few big advantages are: 1. the Switch Box looks a lot nicer than a line of Double 13amp Switched Sockets. 2. The Unit can be mounted outside (IP56). 3. It can control 5 individual items all from one place. 4. The Unit has a Timer Control where you can have things like Lights, Aeration, Feeder, Heaters and Pumps all set to come on and Off upto 5 times per day. 5. Less hassle and cables needed on install unlike 3 x Double 13amp Switch Sockets

@@AKoiEnthusiast I just meant that you can plug the unit into a normal socket (or fused connection unit), I didn’t mean to plug in each individual item. I was saying that the total load cannot exceed 13A, which is what a standard socket can take.

@@sam04019491 I have it connected to its on Fuse in the Consumer Box,. That way if the Sockets (Power) Circuit trips, it will not switch everything off. I have a circuit for the Lights, A Circuit for the Sockets, A Circuit just for the ASHP and a Circuit just for the Matsuko's. If you know what I mean

I watched this video the first time without paying too much attention and bought the Matsuko 5 way switch box timer with quick connectors, thinking it came with a plug to plug it straight into a socket. It's just arrived and after watching the video again I've realised I was wrong. Is it just a case of buying a 13 amp pre wired plug and cable and just attaching that into the quick connectors, or I am I going to have to get an electrician to come out and rewire my garden?😂 Thanks

Thanks for watching the Video. In answer to your question, YES, all you need is a standard 3 pin plug and a suitable length of Flex. I use white, 3 Core, twin and Earth cable. I think it is 2.5mm thick.

I own the 2nd version of the Matsuko switch box and beware of sellers trying to sell the 1st version where wiring it up is a nightmare. This version has sorted this problem out by the looks of it finally!

Another good video kev, looks good with the remote, be good if was WiFi controlled ha, I have 3 of the switch box timers, best investment I originally had the old type bit of a nightmare to wire, when upgrading pond opted and swapped to these!! I spoke to matsuko while back and they mentioned about the new plugs looks good!!

Hi Kev, I bet you was like a kid in a candy shop when you opened the box and saw the remote control lol, is the new one a on off switch box only, it sounds like the remote has a decent range on it, the only problem I would have is my paranoia would say but has it turned it on/off and I would have to go check anyway, either that or set a camera up on it lol, stay safe. Hi Kev great vid I got a matsuko, love it but must say I like the look of that version you demonstrated, question! Does it have a screen , I didn’t notice it light up when you turned it on ... or is that just in the prototype and screens will be in the production models Cheers mate 👍👍

It did not have a screen as it was the Switch box Unit. I think we will have to wait and see if they come up with a Remote for the Timer & PG. There might just be enough room inside for the control unit but I'm not sure. I would love to see a Wifi/App Controlled unit of the Timer in the future. Who knows?

Hi Kev, great video, where did you get the box from as I can't find the remote version when searching? also what price did you pay? As you say it's a bit more expensive but my pond is 150 feet away from my house and this would be perfect, in particular for lighting around the pond.

Cheers Mark, This is a Prototype and hopefully these should be available at the end of this month. Initially through their Website. The option with the original glands or the quick fit fittings will be about 8 weeks. If I get an update from Matsuko I will let you know.

You didn’t show us the new display. The manual buttons seem to have disappeared and been replaced with soft keys. Would have been nice to see the new display.

Cheers for watching. The Buttons on all the Units are exactly the same on all models. They are a smooth sealed button that clicks on actuation. The Remote Unit does not have a Display as it works on both the Buttons and the remote handset. If you watch at 15:00 there are two units side by side and they have identical buttons.

@@AKoiEnthusiast On the older model in the oval window, there are 4 buttons (the navigation and select buttons), plus a small square display screen. In the new model, it doesn’t appear to have the 4 navigation buttons. Is this now one large oval display screen, with software “buttons” i.e. a smart phone style touch screen display that doesn’t need physical buttons.

@@sam04019491 The Switch Box, Switch Box Timer & Switch Box Timer +PG all have a built in screen with 4 Navigation Buttons. The Switch Box Remote does not have a Screen so does not need any Navigation buttons. The added equipment is attached and switched either manually on the face of the box or by using the Wireless Handset. @@sam04019491 This unit is a prototype Switch Box Remote only. I believe the next model will be Programmable. I think it is down to the size of the internal components that restricts the design at the moment. I have just given a Brand New Remote Unit away as a free prize and in a few weeks I will be giving this unit away when I reach 2,000 Subs. Hit the Notification Bell so as not to miss the Video

The only thing I am not keen on if you have all you pond equipment on one circuit, rcd protect. If one item failed and tripped the rcd off then all the pond equipment will be off

I thought about that at first but without running a second feed from the house, every thing is on one breaker on the main Consumer Unit anyway. Down in the Main Shed, I have the Lights on one breaker, The power sockets on a second breaker, the ASHP on a third breaker, The Matsuko's on a fourth breaker, and then the Quarantine Vat on the fifth Breaker, so hopefully any trip will only effect the one breaker

if you feed your consumer unit in the shed from the house on a non rcd breaker. Then you could feed a few single sockets individual on RCBOs then if one failed then the other sockets will still be fine. Just a thought 👍
