I use this sword, seal and a staff just switching spells and incantations and playing around with the spells feels like some sort of badass shooting all sorts of magic around

for the "comet" like attack, wearing Rogier's armor set will boost it by 2% per armor piece worn, for a total of 8% extra dmg (his set boosts weapon skills/ashes of war that deal magic damage)

If you are building for the flame art only then you can leave intelligence at base 24 and increase your faith because the comet scales off INT and the flame scales off Faith.

With the stat spread provided I think a dual wielding straight sword build would be quiet nice. SoNaF + Coded Sword in off hand, even split in INT/FTH and some buff incantations, Winged Sword Talisman and FTH + INT knotted tears OR spiked cracked tear in physic. You get physical, holy, fire and magic damage this way, fast attacks and likely a way you can be effective without abusing the weapon art.

I have recently started using this sword in my newest character. I have discovered that it lets you use the golden order finger seal, and the catalyst of the prince of death also to a great degree. I use incantations on mine and they are pretty strong for me. Still trying to figure out how to mix the sorceries in there though.

I actually always tries to make hybrid builds, I like the versatility, I know it does'int do specially well as a focused build, but you have more option and is more fun, also in PvP is less likely to the enemy be able to read you, you can have multiple ways to fight And when I saw Elden Ring for the first time and discovered there was a true "Quality" Hybrid weapon like this, and also it was really OP, I was very happy I also like the Blasphemous Blade I try to make some kind of "Mystic" Warrior, a Paladin or a "Death Knight" of sorts

I used the bloodhound fang with an int / dex build for 150 hours and then read about this, picked it up, respecced to an int / fai build and I couldn’t be happier - almost feels like I was playing the game wrong

I literally am switching now from bloodhound fang int / dex too. But so far (just started) I find bloodhound fang was better. Maybe will change.

Because str dex for bloodhound bleed damage is basically same as comet for free 0 cast time

I am playing samurai and was mainly using melee attacks. After a couple of try outs, i got used to this build and it is awesome. The godskin duo was no match against it. Thank you so much for sharing this build.

It was nerfed pretty bad a while back. There are way better options like the Blasphemous blade and you only have to level up one stat and leaves you open to use other weapons. With the sword of night and flame you really just have the one weapon that scales off both intelligence and faith and to me, it really gets boring just spamming the weapon art over and over.

The main attacks also do a fair amount of damage and have a nice move set. The ash of war is really unique and does really high damage still. Even with the nerfs, I’d still choose this over the blasphemous blade!

Blasphemous blade got too boring for me. I used it a while but swapped to something else. The fun of this game is using different things. If we are talking to new players who want to find the best weapons then yea get BB or moonveil or bloodhounds fang as early as possible. But most ppl watching these videos are probably looking for different options for subsequent playthroughs

Have you ever tried this with both the magic scorpion charm and the fire scorpion charm?

They boost either ash of war respectively (i believe) - so unless you're going to make use of both AoW, it's not worth running both as you'll have a heavy increase in the amount of damage you take from enemies :)

You say the flame move is better but in your footage the magic beam seams to do much more damage?

The beam only lasts 2 secs and focuses on one target - if they're a fast moving boss, you will miss all the time. The flame covers a large AoE doing similar damage guarantee hits and hitting multiple people :)

Sometimes it depends on enemy resistances. But usually the flame attack is better.

You can find different ashes of war throughout the game that can be forged onto standard weapons. But some weapons come with their own unique ash of war, like this weapon in the video :)

Bro... If you're not using any ashes of war, you might as well just stick with a regular greatsword and never use anything else - The whole point of 90% of the weapons in the game is to use their unique skill powers as they are the attacks that will do literally THOUSANDS of damage with each use
