Can you please make a KZbin short showing how to tie that knot you used on the sub walker. Thanks for the fun video rom down south. Cheers from WI.

That's a Loop Knot, lots of videos on how to tie it but if you know how to tie a Bowline Knot its the same only instead of the rabbit going one time around the tree and back into the hole you go three times around the tree then back into the hole.

Good job Lee, tarpons a difficult fish. Keep on keepin on, you'll get one.

Disclaimer: I'm the furthest thing from a Tarpon expert. With that being said, a really good guide down there showed me a technique that significantly increased the amount of tarpon I've bought to hand. When the fish settles down, do not pull straight up and down. Keep your rod horizontal to the water and pull the opposite way the fish is swimming. His logic was Tarpon are used to swimming up and down in the water column gulping air etc. Pulling to the side and putting the wood to them cuts down the fight time and gives you a better shot. great video! enjoy your time.

You have captured some great video of fish jumping, over the years. It's too bad you didn't land the big one.

Lee: when did the new boat arrive? Did I miss an episode some how? Would love to get the details. I think you are enjoying it to the max. Stay safe, stay healthy, catch the big ones. God Bless!

When I fish for tarpon the lightest I ever go is 60lb, usually I throw 80-130lb. When I’m pulling them from underneath the pier and I’m land based I use 200lb.
@TodaysAngler Жыл бұрын
Holy smokes- would be tough to throw that little Rapala with anything more than 50 but I hear ya

awesome job lee patterning a foreign fish in short order on artificial baits too. id suggest 60-80lbs leader what a great video.
@TodaysAngler Жыл бұрын
Yeah- that's what most of the live bait guys use. That little subwalk lure kinda dies with larger fluoro

Maybe you said this on a different video and I missed it but didn't you buy that boat for fresh water fishing. If so how are you fishing in Salt water?
@TodaysAngler Жыл бұрын
I bought it mainly for freshwater fishing but I went to the Florida Keys for the month of April to chase Tarpon and Cudas.
@Snookwisperer Жыл бұрын
Try not twitching the lure so much. Just sweep it slowly. Tarpon like it slow and steady

Will have to try that too- they didn't want the twitch every day...

Tie a better knot, that Rapala knot is very weak. Tie a 80 lb. snap on with a Fish-N-Fool knot and you would not loose those fish.

@@TodaysAngler To be honest sir i dont really care if its 50 or 500, if you keep breaking gear off leaving hooks in several fish it's pretty obvious that it isn't enough isn't it?

@@TodaysAngler Just to mention it, i checked some other videoes claiming 100lb leader is a bit on the light side for Tarpon...
