I’m not a jealous person but is because Florida have about 65778758788854888484858485 species of fish to catch. Shhiiiiet there invasive species is more exciting than 10 species we catch in NY. If lucky we get an occasional cobia etc

I’m not doubting that you already know this but I think you keep losing the Tarpon because you don’t bow when they jump. It could also be the fact that they are tarpon and they are hard to hook as well. Anyways awesome video man! So hyped for this video series!

Gotta get you over to our 30A- Destin area -- when you see the tarpon jump push the rod down towards the fish to give it line and it wont pop the hook as easy. Fun times !

Was just going to suggest collapsable canvas water buckets to slow the YaK down when your Nantucket sleigh riding. Then you put the peddle in reverse. Such efficient rigs. I always had a problem putting the end of the fight pressure on the big fish. Nothing better than exploring the keys on a yak.

Hey man word of advice for jacks, if u grab them and put a finger on each on of those black spots and squeeze it acts like a pressure point and they won’t flop

Yet to land a tarpon on a kayak. Been pulled around a bunch but they seem to always spit the hook. When they hit the canals where I’m at I’m landing one this year. Epic day keep up the slaying fishing days.

I have never personally tarpon fished, but everyone says you have to bow to the king (rod tip down when they jump). May help keep more of them hooked! Then again, you do this for a living

Some people call the snook robalo while the snapper or grouper is called pargo last but not least el Tiburon also called shark

When the tarpon jump “bow to the king” or put the rod tip to the water. It will help with the slack and it will be harder for them to spit the hook. The line will raise when they are about to jump that is when you (bow down) or put the rod tip to the water.

Great video! I feel like the mangrove snapper down in the keys are way more aggressive than when you find them in other parts of Florida-rare to get one on artificial up on the gulf coast.

Haha I’ve had a lot of years of practice from standing on slippery wet rocks in rough surf to owning an outback since I was 16. My balance is pretty good and the kayak is like an extension of myself lol 😆
