Most valuable thrifting in Paris video by far, thank you!

Thanks for the list! I always thrift when I travel and this will make my upcoming trip so much fun. You can always recognize an inexperienced thrifter, especially at estate sales. They get sooooo excited and way overpay for things that you want to tell them, "Honey, they are everywhere and much cheaper than that." But as long as it makes them happy, that's all that matters.

I live in Utrecht in the Netherlands, we have an Episode here as well :) it’s a chain vintage shop! In case you ever visit Amsterdam, there’s an Episode there as well

Guerrisol, Freep'star are great though! Frishop which is also in the 18th arrondissement, is almost perfect. I found some perfect and expensive coats for 5€ each...

Regarding the expensive shops you mentioned, Maybe because those shops purchased for that price that you were expecting and they are reselling it for what it’s worth. This might be because it’s more curated pieces and boutique. It’s also probably catering to their shoppers who like thrifting but not scrounging through other thrift places and these shops have already curated for them. Assuming that’s the type of shops they are. This is coming from a vintage and thrift reseller myself. Enjoyed watching and seeing where these shops are to try and visit when I go back to Paris where I can get deals for reselling!
@krisannette84 Жыл бұрын
Oh forgot to add places that can charge cheaper is most likely because they get things donated to them. 😉 So when I resell, even though I know an item is valued for more, I will sell for less if I got a good deal on it or it was donated. In order to actually make profit you need to charge at least 3 times what you bought it for. Factoring in business expenses.

Love your recommendations! I’ve been to Paris on a group tour and I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the city and the country. Despite being paranoid about being pickpocketed, that’s anywhere you go when traveling. I will for sure come back learn the language and check out your thrift recommendations. Ps. I love your style. Keep making videos. ❤ ~Sending good vibes.✨

Bonjour, Arielle! I love this video. Thank you for putting this together. ❤ I’m going to Paris next week and I’m curious to know if you think these five are still great in 2024? Any other new gems you’d recommend that you didn’t mention in this video? Thank you!

Thank you so much for the tips! I will save the video to remember the places when I go to Paris. It is a shame to find pieces dirty or with holes. I love thrift stores.

This is just what I was researching. So cool about the Comédie Française. I’ll definitely go there to see those items. Super unique. Question. Can you direct me anywhere in particular if I’m looking for some vintage Hermès scarves? I’m plus size so I’m assuming I won’t be purchasing any clothing though that does me me very sad.

Wow, I’m in NY, and you’d never find worn out, dirty, stained, tattered old clothes like that in one of our thrift shops. I find excellent quality new or almost new, often with the tags still on the items. And the prices are great. Those first photos you showed were like something you’d dig out of a garbage can.

As someone who live in NY, I never have that thrifting experience, the always have horrible stuff even though it’s not stained or anything the price is horrible

Adding Bis Boutique Solidaire (there are a few in Paris) - the clothes are in great condition and classified by colour :) Ding Fring (also a few locations) isn't bad either, it's part of the Emmaüs/Le Relais network - it's a bit more hit or miss, but then all thrift shops are... Something to note is that Ding Fring tends to have larger sizes. Agree with Guerrisol, I find it downright depressing - dark, dusty, smelly and everything looks old and trashed
