How do you speak fast and still clearly enunciate tones?

I think that's a normal speed I started to learn Mandarin this year and when I sound more natural it's because I'm familiar with the words otherwise I sound like a robot.

It's kinda awkward to keep nodding in a meeting without saying anything, otherwise the other person would think you're frozen.
