Is that effective now? Last I read/heard, they planned on implementing this new policy sometime in October but nothing was definitive. All I can say is it’s about time!! March is one of the best times to visit Japan. It’s sakura time, the tickets are usually cheapest, and right now the yen is in the toilet so Western currency is going to have a lot of spending power.

@KaijuDaddyJapan Жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video. As I don’t buy Gundam, I really couldn’t tell you which one is the cheapest. I will say, if you have access to Amazon JP, always price compare. Sometimes the shops will even price match if you ask. Not always but sometimes. Normally though, I’d say Yodobashi or Bic will offer the lowest prices on newer items and they usually have a larger selection as well.
@KaijuDaddyJapan Жыл бұрын
As for tax free, again, I don’t use that but most of the bigger stores offer it. I don’t think the smaller ones like inside Radio Kaikan, Mandarake, or Surugaya offer it as I don’t recall seeing the signs for it. But, I could be wrong. Always pays to ask though.

Hi. Thanks for checking out the video. I’ve only encountered Masters of the Universe Origins figures in specialty shops that import the figures = double or triple the price you’d pay in the States. @@KaijuDaddyJapan Thank you so much for your help, also for the link. ;) I watched almost all of your Toy Shops of Tokyo volumes in order to spot some MOTU Origins. I think it was even in Volume 1, where I spotted some of these figures (Evil-Lyn was hanging there), but it didn’t seem to be a lot of them or at least only older figures. Isn’t there a Toys R Us in Tokyo? I would think that maybe this is a great place to find some MOTU Origins. Here and there I spotted some Jurassic Park/World figures. Is this much more popular there than MOTU? Can’t believe that. I‘m from Europe. As I mentioned before, both of these figures never were released here, but now there would be a chance to get each for 60 Euro online. When I‘m not wrong, they‘re noticeable cheaper (44 Euro) in the shop from your provided link. So thanks again for your help!! ;)

The first Toy Shops of Tokyo video is Monster and that is one of the only places I’ve seen MOTU Origins. I was actually in Toys R Us on Thursday and they don’t have any MOTU. @@KaijuDaddyJapan Would be great, thanks! ;) Yeah, I guess you can‘t compare the Asia toy shops with western toy shops at all. So it was awesome to see what they have to offer with your videos. Recently I heard that the next Star Wars Celebration will be held in Japan. And I immediately was thinking, if there is a huge Star Wars fanbase in Japan at all. But with your videos I could remember, that Tamashii Nations and Kotobukiya did a lot of Star Wars stuff. But what about the Hasbro Star Wars stuff (Vintage Collection and Black Series) in Japan? There wasn’t a lot to see, as well as Marvel Legends. Only lots and lots of Transformers by Hasbro and Takara Tomy. But who wonders: Robots are a big deal over there, ever since. I was also a huge Transformers collector between 2011 and 2021. The Kingdom line was the last one for me, then suddenly I was not interested in Transformers anymore. Maybe it will change when the next movie is released.

Yeah. When I used to visit Japan before moving here, I was always depressed at the differences between the stores and this was back in the very early 2000s when America still had Toys R Us and other toy stores. Japanese toy stores/departments used to be even better back in the day.

Yes it’s a tour of a store. It’s not a shopping trip.

How about move your camera a little slower. Its sickening. Makes me dizzy.

I’ve tried moving it slower in the newer videos. For the bigger shops, due to time, I tended to move faster in order to get through the store in a reasonable amount of time.
