I also just wanted to put out there my own experience. I’ve done this method like 9 years ago. I used a derma roller, bio oil, regular retinol lotion (not tret), and a collagen cream. It helped a lot. My marks lightened by 50%. But I got lazy so I stopped. But it does work. I’m sure this new method with tret will be 100 times more effective. So good luck to everyone on this journey. I’ll be attempting to lighten my pregnancy stretch marks again. Maybe I’ll update you guys one day ❤

A good alternative for nursing moms is kojic acid soap! Lots of people with dark spots use it. It works great, but please do your research on how to properly use this soap. It can damage the skin if used wrong just like tret. If you are pregnant. I would just advise you to wait until after birth. Kojic acid is fine for pregnant women. But with all the hormones and growing belly. It’s better to just wait.

Centella asiatica or niacinamide is a good ingredient to use along with the hyaluronic acid serum too!

@@StevieMichelle awe yea. It’s better to wait until after birth. During pregnancy, there’s not much you can do. Especially if they’re genetic. If the skin is going to stretch, then it will. Using these two ingredients along with the retinoid will give you the best results. So don’t forget that :). And remember it’s easiest to get rid or fade the marks if they are fresh. Red ones fade easier and faster vs white ones that have healed. You would have to use a derma roller 100% for the white ones. Or even get laser treatment if they’re really deep.

Please do not, use tret on damp skin. You should use the tret after your skin has dried for 30 minutes. Use the HA and whatever serums you want, what 30 minutes and then apply tret and moisturizer afterwards.

It’s not recommended to use tret on wet/damp skin. While yes, it helps to absorb the product, it can also lead to burning and irritation. Irritated skin can cause inflammation and hyperpigmentation. The product works alone, you don’t need anything to help it work, especially when you are using the 0.1%.

I haven’t tried tret specifically, but I’ve used Cerave retinol resurfacing serum as a spot treatment for dark bug bite marks and it worked amazing! I am sure any retinoid would work the same.
