Good morning, I'm from trinidad 🇹🇹 and came across your KZbin video. Enjoyed the video and loved your reviews / commentary. Doubles originated in Trinidad and the bara (dough) is actually supposed to be very thin, almost transparent. Tamarind balls are usually sour but once made rite, with alot of sugar :) 😃 and other spices, it delicious and should be eaten in smaller bites. Thank u all. Have fun and stay safe.

Yesterday I tried doubles from Ali roti on utica.. then I went to De hot spot and man it was so darn good. Ali was just ok to me. But De hot spot was amazing. Also, last month I tried Trinciti in queens and it's good too.

Try doubles from Trini Delite in Richmond Hill. Just the best I’ve tried in a long time. Comparable to local Trinidad made. Love that you guys try other foods especially putting Trinidad out there is special to me!

Tambarind (tambran) balls are not supposed to be very sour but more sweet than sour because it is coated in brown sugar. So maybe the person that made those tambarine balls used the fruit that was not fully ripened.

You guys need to try trincity roti shop or tropical jade express 3 or Singh’s roti shop on Liberty Ave in Richmond hill Queen and buy the tamarind ball that 4 in a pack some are sweet and some spicy

Nice video but I have to say I prefer Suzys doubles, I prefer the less greasy bara and more flavorful, the place is a LOT cleaner than most other establishments which is a huge factor for me. As for the tamarind balls, take smaller bites, its not a donut , its meant to be tangy and sweet at the same time !. thanks !

You gotta go up to Toronto for good roti & doubles. They are literally on every other block there as the Trini population is massive in Toronto. Much, much, much better than anything I've had around Liberty Ave or in Bedstuy.

In Ontario (Canada) double s are $3-4 each! And the portion is puny, half of the channa that I saw in your video. It sucks so bad. And I don’t have the patience to make them at home… so I pay the ridiculous high prices .

I Love how they charge the old Trinbago price away too😂😂😂😂I know some places in bago doubles be way to expensive and see how flour price gone up again pain yes.... Doubles might become a rich man food soon🥲 but I do wonder how the taste varies comparing doubles in the States to in Trini. Cuz I know comparing Bago and Trini doubles the taste is vastly different. I've never ventured back to my original stomping grounds since leaving for Queens. I actually leaved right on Church Avenue near where you guys were. Flatbush and Linden is where the public library I used to visit when I was in grade school. Maybe you guys will get a chance to hit Liberty Avenue for more Guyanese and Trini food. There's a great Guyanese Chinese restaurant named Good Hope. Tell me if that's 10 outta 10 when you visit.

Anand Ramjattan: thank you. I don't know what these two know about doubles but it made me upset to hear them give a rating. Doubles in Trinidad are better because the ingredients may be the same but the quality of the products used in Trinidad is better and the food is authentic. If they ever tried the doubles in Trinidad, I just wonder how they would rate them. There will be no comparison.

Hey so I loved this but you pronounced EVERYTHING WRONG! Please do a part 2 and also here's the correct pronunciations: "The Bread"/" Dough"- Bara (Bar-ah) "Doubles"- Even tho its just 1 doubles you bought its STILL doubles. Also when she said the dough is "sweet" 1:07 its not the bread which is sweet there's actually tambarran sauce in there which we call here in Trinidad "Sweet Sauce".

They are eating it like a sandwich. And they called it fried dough and bread. In case they don't know, it's called bara and the entire thing with the channa is called doubles.

Who are these people and what do they know about Trinidad doubles that they are giving them a rating? First of all, it's not fried dough or bread: it's called bara (one is bara, two are doubles with the channa). It would taste differently depending on what condiments you put in it. When buying Trinidad food, please ask questions and get the correct information. I just had to laugh at these people critiquing the doubles. Why don't people try other Trinidadian food and why don't people recommend that they try something other than roti and doubles. After all, Trinidad is country/island made up of different cultures. So let's enjoy all of them.

Who is you? What you know about doubles? You eat all the doubles in the world? Since when condiments alone make a doubles? Taste is subjective and these individuals are free to give their opinion on the doubles they've tried, they don't need to be 'doubles experts' to rank foods that they have eaten relative to all other foods they have eaten.

@@qick07 first of all, learn to speak proper English. It's not "who is you", it's " who are you"?.second of all, read the reply to my comments from this couple and then read my response to them. And in case you don't know, everybody cooks the channa differently either by boiling it or cooking it like a regular curried dish so it would taste differently. Next, some people, when they make their bara, it's sometimes thicker than others. And last of all, different condiments like shadon beni, tamarind sauce, pepper sauce, cucumber, or coconut will affect how the doubles taste. So whoever you are? Don't tell me about doubles and bara. My mother is East Indian and we grew up eating Indian food. Why don't you reveal your identity? Like I said before, learn proper grammar before you attack anybody. Don't want any more comments from you. And remember, it's not "who IS you, it's ,"who ARE you?. GEEZ!!!
