The pile of quivers on your person early on is delightful. I'd noticed that push-back and it's nice to get the reminder that archery has been present in a variety of cultures (and that how those cultures have historically carried their arrows differed).

I was literally thinking in the last video of yours that popped up that archers that have the quiver by the waste are more effective because it's easier to get to and it was the more common and logical way of doing it. It makes so much sense why the quiver-back makes more effective sense, especially when it comes to movement.

For the arrow stability issue, that's why there's a type of quiver with cover used by the Mongols. It's open on the side so the arrows could safely jump about while on horseback. The case could be shut close in inclement weather. They place the arrows in reverse meaning the Mongols pull the arrows by the point. Reasons are to avoid ruffling the fletchings or to smooth it automatically as it being pulled out and to easily choose arrowhead types without looking.

It's up to personal preference. I started off with a hip quiver, but had to switch out to s back quiver due to a nerve pain condition in my leg. I found the main spot that the quiver bumped against my leg was EXACTLY the WORST spot to bump against. That, and I'm a total clutz, and constantly got stuck in doors/ bumped other people with my arrows/etc. It took me a bit of getting used to my back quiver, but now i really love it, for all the readings mentioned here, plus, NO LEG BUMPING. Though, i probably need to get a new one: mine gotten a bit soft on its sides, and it's getting harder to grab those last few arrows...

I don't know how true it is, but I have heard that stories about poisoned arrows in Europe (where there are no toxins that would kill faster than blood loss and that could be easily applied to arrows) largely came from sticking arrows in the ground (as well as from reusing arrows without really washing them). There are a lot of... Interesting things in the ground, including feces, which isn't something you want in your wounds (and wanted even less in pre-antibiotic times).

Thing with bows and spears is these are really basic concepts you don't need any deeper understanding to make. For spear all you need to know is "stick pointy" and for bow "wood springy". It's even more basic than wheel, because some cultures living in rough terrains never developed anything using wheels.

Now I want a game where you add different types of quivers to your character to increase your ammo amount and he ends up with like 5 different types of quivers on him at once

reminds me I ran into the "back quivers never existed in history" when I started, and quickly learned that they did, and usage varied based on purpose and tradition. For a historical archer, quiver will be based on the culture of archery, for modern it's whatever is most comfortable and fits your need. That said, I'm eyeing that hip quiver at the end, tryna find it lol.

We had to improvise because our Archery team usually shoots inside with ground quivers, but for a fun thing, we went to an outside shooting range and had no quiver so some of us had them in pockets or sweatshirts and it was funny to see how others held their arrows without a quiver
