@@joeylummox7330 Give me a break. They picked up the torch Opeth dropped long ago. They're more a mix of Mastodon, Tool and Opeth anyway. Voice of the Void was the best "Opeth" like album since Ghost Reveries.

Are you also one of those people that think the older Opeth albums were "too weak" because they also had clean singing? 😂 Anyway, likely going to be my album of the year unless Opeth actually surprises the world with their upcoming album. Despite it having growls in a song or two, I doubt it.

I've tried dozens of times to give Opeth a listen since I know they're supposed to be the GOATs but I just could never get into any of their albums. I'm not saying they're bad, I just have never liked their music. Not gonna knock others tastes though

Contrary to popular taste, I dig clean singing in metal. I can’t help myself. Maynard and Chino add so much more with their beautiful,dynamic , melodic singing voices than the millionth grunting death growl that stays in the same parlando pitch forever. That being said I do dig this as well but I am not vetoing metal for having a great capable dynamic vocalist who can add panache and nuance by actually singing
