Hey Dan, just FYI, because you may not know this. But US carriers do clean your laboratories throughout the flight. You may not have noticed it but they do. Since the pandemic it has been pushed towards that. Especially on long haul and ultra long haul flights.

I too use the credo of the ‘metal tube in the sky’ analogy and never lose my sense of wonder over the miracle of modern flight itself, never mind the extras like being able to lie down in a bed (in the sky!) and eat good food, watch movies etc. My attitude is gratitude.

I cannot believe this is a US airline, from someone working in an Asian airline, there are some features that I WISH I could have - ESPECIALLY the functions of the TV. Let's face it, there are only so many movies and shows you can watch, but being able to adjust the angles of the TV DOWN, and order food on the PTV is absolutely awesome!!

I love Mint. But the major issue is the insane cost. I used to be able to go from BOS to SFO for around $1400. But over the last two years, I can’t seem to find any for under $2500. That is a lot of money for a 5-6h flight

NSD ain't lying. JetBlue's MINT Class really does rock-even on its narrow-body domestic routes, where other carriers have ended their lay flat business-class seating. I cannot comment on JetBlue's international routes. But if it's like SFO to BOS, then JetBlue's MINT Class is a winner. Disclaimer: the SFO - BOS routes I flew were in the older style seats, prior to this newly released seat configuration that JetBlue recently rolled out, like NSD is reviewing here. The lack of a BC lounge is disappointing, however. JetBlue's domestic amenity kit WAS nicer than other carriers. That's a shame that NSD didn't receive one at all.

Jet blue is also my favorite for domestic travel. They are the only airline that gives, not just a drink included in an economy ticket, but snacks too. And you can have as much as you want. If you want pretzels and chips and a cookie, they’ll give it to you. If you want to refill mid flight, they have a self serve station. Every other airline charges for snacks

Hey Dan! Long time fan, and Jetblue Transatlantic Crewmember. Your review is so touching and those of us involved in JetBlue's transatlantic product are incredibly proud and protective of the product we provide for reactions just like yours. Unfortunately we're seeing some changes especially in Core due to cost cutting that you may see in the news, such as the cold meals. But, hopefully in the future this will change back to the hot food options everyone loved. And honestly, the flavor of the cold food isn't bad. The curtain issue is something we get a lot. I personally agree. According to the company it's meant to provide a more open and "egalitarian" approach. Keeping the plane open for all regardless of what class they book. However, we are also encouraged to keep the front lavatories primarily for mint customers use. Can't wait for our lounges to open later next year and see what you think. Hope to see you aboard one of my flights soon. Cheers!

The dichotomy with JetBlue is striking. Excellent business class vs a terrible domestic economy experience. Recently traveled to Europe, flying JetBlue from my hometown to JFK. JB rescheduled our 10AM flight to 430PM just two hours before departure. Luckily, got a last-minute Delta flight to JFK. Flew Lufthansa over and Swiss Air on the return. Kept the JB return from JFK to my hometown. The lead FA for JB got red-faced and screamed at a couple who put their small bags in the overhead. Then, she cursed casually with the other FA while telling her why she shouted at them. Then, the lead FA walked right past a man with his feet up in the bulkhead during the final departure check. The whole experience was shocking.

22:33 - The reason the flight takes longer is because they fly slower! An Airbus A321LR cruises around Mach 0.78-0.82 (78-82% the speed of sound), while a more typical widebody cruises around Mach 0.82-0.86 (82-86% the speed of sound). The A320 family was originally designed to be a short to medium-haul airliner so they didn't need to be designed to go as fast. It would be too difficult and expensive to redesign the wings and aerodynamic surfaces to withstand flying at more typical transoceanic speeds.

Don’t worry, it’s a quite common misconception because of the “feel” of booking a flight on JetBlue. It feels as if you’re booking with a ultra low-coast carrier airline. There’s the base fare then all the fees come into play such as the seat you choose, fees for luggage, fees for carryon, fees for inflight entertainment, fees for oxygen [sarcasm]…just like the other low-cost airlines. JetBlue isn’t a bad airline but I, personally, have not had a good experience with them. Their business class is a great option - if you can snag a seat, they go quick - but their economy class seats are awful. AWFUL.

JetBlue does not come up when I use Google flights for that itinerary. I was prepared to relegate us to the sad, painful business class regular recliners on United or American. Short layover at BOS but for lie flat seats and the same price as UA and AA, I'm turning Blue. And JetBlue's website -- so much better than most. Easy to find routes that have Mint service.

Happy to see you’ve enjoyed your flight, Dan. JetBlue in my eyes have always been a hybrid carrier, even from day 1, offering seat back entertainment, live TV and extra legroom for reasonable money. I hope they continue to expand that presence slowly across the US, instead of doing it the “easy way”, by trying to buy this airline, buy that airline and getting into all sorts of DOJ trouble lol. Like just expand your presence and continue to do what you do so well! 😂

My only issue with JetBlue is that they have NO staff at their check in desks until 2 hours before the flight at airports outside of their hubs. This was a huge issue when flying internationally on a busy day because we had to use that desk so that they could check our visas, etc. They showed up at the 2 hour mark and spent nearly 30 minutes getting the computers up which gave an entire flight of people 90 minutes to get through their line, security, & get to the gate.
