Then on the 2nd flight i booked they have downgraded me from business class to economy and that was a month ago with no refund on the difference in new seat allocation either.... Flying with them is good in my experience but there customer service is soo bad its not funny. Air Asia pay me my refunds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the “problems” people have with low cost carries simply stem from a problem of their expectations. With their absolute botton-scraping prices, all you are paying for is a promise to get you from point a to b. And with the fact that you are on a local, 90% of the passengers (unless connecting) should have no issue wasting a few extra precious hours delayed at the airport.

Air Asia was the first airline I flew internationally (6 flights between India, Malaysia and Singapore during our holiday). I loved each one, super boarding music, fun crews and very professional. Even though KUL T2 was not fun in 2014 - definitely seems to have got an upgrade, I was fine with it. The funny bit was that I didn’t print my boarding pass at home to get charged more than my ticket, however I still remember my experience very fondly.

Living in Singapore 9yrs we used AirAsia a lot for our travels.. a fantastic airline for sure, My last trip to Bali was also pre covid Jan 2020 my happy place on earth.. The food in general in Asia whether you pay $3 or $300 is pretty amazing and i never had any problems eating anywhere, During lockdown on a return trip to Singapore i was quarantined for 2 weeks by government request in a 5* hotel and was served airline type food ( vegan) 3 times a day and it was delicious, So hand on heart most Asia airlines i can quite honestly say have been fantastic for me ..thanks for another brilliant Vlog and review 🙂

I’ve flown air Asia a few times and have learned a basic lesson. As somebody has pointed out, you should only expect to be flown from one destination to the next. They will charge you for ANY extra weight you have on your luggage, period. Happened to me twice when I was a newbie so since then I’ve learned my lesson. Having said that, their staff is very helpful. My husband and I were flying to Singapore from our honeymoon in Bali and his passport had less than 6 months validity. Since he isn’t Singaporean, thus there was an issue letting him board. However, the staff really went out of their way to help us and called their colleagues in Singapore and eventually we were able to board the flight. We were very grateful cause otherwise I would have to fly back alone and my husband would have to go back to the UK, a sad end to an epic honeymoon 😅 So yeah, the staff are really helpful and nice on this airline.

We live in Thailand 7-8 months of the year and fly Air Asia a lot. They are absolutely my favourite "budget" airline. We fly them both domestically and Internationally. We flew their A330 in Economy from Osaka, Japan to Bangkok last year and are flying with them from Bangkok to Guangzhou in China next month for Christmas. Not to mention back and forth down to Bangkok from our home in Udon Thani with them domestically. Yes their A330 economy is tight at 3-3-3 but there is a hack. Right at the back it is only 2-3-2 in the last 3 or 4 rows and the pair seats are actually pretty good. If flying their A320, I always book the emergency exit row 12 which gives good legroom. All in all, Air Asia are very good.
@levanoni2 ай бұрын
I think they started getting strict with the carry on policy because prople were really taking advantage of it. I used to see people taking a medium sized suitcase a few times or multiple bags that you know were over 12kgs. This led to lots of overhead bins getting too full and time taken up to board or deplane because of the excess carry-ons.
@FatCatSaysMeowАй бұрын
There is the safety aspect that is often overlooked. 1. Flying suitcase/bag is not a good thing especially when there is turbulence. 2. Back injuries/Falling baggage. There are passengers that expect cabin crew to put their carry-ons into the overhead bin. Imagine doing it 10times for overweight baggage. There is a reason why no one put overly heavy stuff in the top cabinets.

Hi, just saying that this video is such a great reminder of how low airline expectations have become over the years and with a "low cost" airline costing a small fraction of a price of a so called main stream/luxury airline and still offering an amazing value for money experience shows how money hungry these more expensive airlines have become. P.S I'm not saying that some airlines don't offer a great seat and experience, but i'm just saying how more airlines have to remember that it dosen't take fancy amenties kits and dine on demand to give a great experience.

Scoot's Premium Economy is Shithole airlines with wider seats and better leggroom. I flew Scoots first 787-9 (9V-OJA) in January from Bali to SIN. It was so extreemly dirty. We had seat 1A and 1C and the curtain to the galley you could make a very thick soup on it, if you boild it. The food was bad and little, we got wery little to drink with the meal and before and the WIFI hardly worked for the first 45min, after that it didn't work. The armrests that also covers the table where totaly worn out. Actualy Biman Bangladesh's 737 we had from Dhaka to SIN was cleaner, served good food and they came a second round asking if someone vanted more food and came with water just after boarding and Coke with the meal and after the meal,served more water. But Scoot, by fahr the worst of the 11 airlines we flew with on this Asia wacation. Air Asia we only used from Penang to Bangkok, we already had eaten at the airport so didn't eat anny thing at this this late flight, but it was OK.

There is Disney+ in Malaysia. Overall air Asia has good frequency for many ASEAN destinations and for the money you pay, service is acceptable. Their on time is also way better than most airline. I am their APSV count which means I got them frequently and used to have a black status. My only complaint is that their app has become less friendly and slower when booking for to the many things they want to do by making it a super app. Also their tracking of your frequent flyer status with them is no longer accurate cos they don't capture the flights I have taken last few months which is a bummer. And for Korea and China etc you can find good bargain but keep expectation to a certain level for service and comfort

Hey man, here is an idea for a video if you have not already. I have not came across anyone that goes in depth on this and it is a bit frustrating how nobody covers this any good. I would very much so enjoy a video about what a pro traveller packs in their carry-on and then with particular detail to what exactly one pack in the toiletry and how one pack it for TSA approval. Do you take 1 toiletry bag that is transparent, do you take 1 toiletry bag and 1 transparent bag? I am thinking maybe Thule Subterra 2 is the perfect toiletry bag with the exception of a lacking handle on the top of the bag, it has a detachable transparent quarter pouch inside it.

Kudos to AirAsia for weighing every luggage. And a vote down for you for highlighting a non existent issue. Do you know how many times I have seen passengers boarding the plane with 20" luggage that were overweight in yesteryears? And how much inconvenience it caused to other passengers and the flight crew? And how many times the overhead compartments were full because passengers don't check in their luggages? And those with just a small backpack have to store their backpack far away from their seats. This is a low cost airline and some people just refused to pay for check in luggage. Please be fair and considerate to those who have paid. So come on, praise where praise is due. Anyway, the weighing process is always swift and has never caused any inconveniences. Well done to the staff!

I've only ever flown AirAsia short haul on Economy. At those prices I might have to give Business class a go some time. Totally concur on the service and food btw - really decent SE Asian comfort food.

Great video again! Heading to Malaysia next year and looking to try out Air Asia for some domestic flights while I am there after your previous videos. Unfortunately most of them don't seem to offer business class. Even the 3-hour flights.

Flatbed only exist in A330. Domestically, they only use A320 neo which have normal economy and HotSeat where it have xtra legroom.

In Air Asia A320 the best seats with good leg room is 14A & 14F which is a window seats, I always book this seat and 2 set of hot meals.

Fully agree, AirAsia is my go to LCC. Clearly far better than the shabby Scoot, and even with an edge compared to established European full service carriers.

Really great value for money. Keep up the good work and fly safe

Regarding weighing the carry-on bags, I think more airlines should do that, particularly if the allowance can be doubled for a nominal fee. I'm fed up with people gaming the system by carrying on huge (and presumably heavy) bags that take up far too much space, so other passengers have to put their carry-on under the seat in front.

People are gaming the carry-on system because airlines charge an arm and a leg to check a bag. Maybe start with the root of the problem and we can alleviate some of the fck fck games.

Hey Dan, do you plan on ever reviewing the Singapore Airlines Premium Economy on a long haul flight like SIN - FRA? That would be amazing!!

Really didn't like the lounge layout in KLIA2. Only one lounge airside, thankfully...guess better one then none. Seems like many more landslide rather then aurside. And I tried to take a couple sodas and one of the ladies there stopped my friend and I when we were leaving asking us to return the drinks as their policy (didn't see it written anywhere) is that you cannot remove any drinks or food...that was a first and left a bad taste in my mouth...eso since I don't eat anything but a couple pieces of fruit that were nothing to write home about...😂

As a subscriber and lover of your videos of all of the business class reviews, I would LOVE a video on the Brazilian airline, GOL, business class international to/flight from Miami. I DOUBLE DARE you try this as I believe it would rank as the world's worst 'business' class!
