Sapphire is a good compromise of build quality and price. Xfx on the other hand is cheaper BUT worse cooling. For instance the rx570 xfx don’t have heatsink on the memory chips. From experience, the memory chips that aren’t properly cooled are usually the ones to die the fastest. My sapphire RX 570, has cooling on a memory chips. Though the fan’s I got with the card had to be replaced. Which was a easy process because they were hot-swap. Always when buying used gpu’s, by the ones that have a good memory cooling.

I am currently using in my main system the exact same version of the RX 5700 (Sapphire Pulse). I got mine for 100€ about 5 months ago. Fun fact,the only difference between the RX 5600 XT and the RX 5700 is the memory subsystem ( bus,bandwidth, amount of VRAM). They have the same Navi 10 core and 36CUs.

mine has been chugging practically non stop from january 2020. its awesome now ive had it at max clock and 915mv for a while. paired with a 3600(x unfortunately non x was unavailable when buying other components:( it was a good buy for 298 euros. my plans for foiled cuz of my strict budget with the x version so i had to get the 5600xt instead of 5700(xt) for like 50 euros more, but im still happy with what i got since this performs almost like a stock 5700 when oc/uv. e: got the pulse too

Upgraded from GTX 970 to this RX 5600XT for 110 euros was a worthy upgrade the only downside is my I7 4790K doesn't really fit well there's a bit of a cpu bottleneck but it has improved my PC gaming by a lot not to mention the power consumption

Still a very nice upgrade though, you can easily increase graphics settings now and LOTS of games still work well for you. especially single-player. : ) However if you had an i5 it would have been the same as if you had an i3...

Nice video. Just got one of these Sapphire Pulse RX 5600XT cards on Amazon. As near as I can tell it is brand new in box. Even the plastic film on the shroud was intact. Only difference from the retail version is it came in a plain brown box. When I worked with PCs in the early 2000s that was often a thing with OEM cards sent to PC shops but who knows now. Anyway. I have it installed in my PC and it is a big improvement over my RX 570. Runs very well under Linux for anyone who might be thinking about giving it a go.

I have an Asus Strix 5600XT that I bought new, it's on my 3rd pc. It's the coolest & quietest running video card that I own. The fans will stop spinning if the card's temps fall to a certain temperature. The build quality is also top notch.

About the same performance of a RX 6600 only with 2GB less VRAM. Sits between the 2060 and 2060 super. If you need a budget GPU you can get this well under $100 used. Too bad dual GPUs are not a thing anymore or you could have a sweet dual GPU system that only uses 230 watts and cost only $120 for both. Wonder why that is not a thing anymore? Now you know.

It's not as much of a problem with the 5600XT, but certainly, in Forza 5, card could push Higher settings just fine but for the amount of VRAM

I snagged two one lucky day when all GPUS were AWOL due to covid. One night, as I was browsing eBuyer, 33 of these bad boys came into stock. I always holding back my Asrock 5600 xt at capping fps to 60fps on AAA games, even that i'm happy with the performance. 200ish at competitive cs2 match. The only struggle is a seldom and random driver crash, tho i believe Nvidia also have same issue just less common.

I could get my hands on exactly that 5600xt locally for 90€ after my other card died. I farted around with all the gaming settings (not the recording ones) and there is quiet a lot you can do with the AMD driver to make things butter smooth. Super resolution, Image sharpening (no performance hit I could feel but very nice to have since reshade is blocked on many games now and sharpening on Nvidia tanks the FPS- they suck in that department imho), Enhanced sync, Fancurve, OC/Undervolt. The only setting that was giving me stutters with my Acer freesync 1440p monitor with that no-name cheesy display port cable bought seperately in a shop, was the "amd optimized" Free sync switch, just put it on "ON" and everything is fine on my setup, I wonder what that amd optimized freesync does beyond the "ON" setting anyways (to clear my sentence up there are 3 settings for freesync: OFF, ON, AMD optimized - check after reboot sometimes that setting has amnesia on my altered win10 installation). I could undervolt the core to 930 mV (so it is ca -70 mV) and OC'ed the core to 1820 MHz and the vRam to 1820 MHz as well, resulting in massive less powerdraw (20W and more saved) although I set the powerlimit to +20% so it theoretically could go beyond that stock 150W - wich it obviously doesn't. The card is good for 1440p gaming (COD, even BF2042) when you put the screen resolution in the game (Battlefield: user.cfg file must be created) down to 85%, 80% is also still OK, but turn on the Radeon Image sharpening to 80% and while you are there tick Radeon enhanced sync as well for that smoothness. Go to the Display option and crank up that color saturation to 160% and enjoy the show. I have never had so much GFX card for so cheap.

why do you have 5 heat pipes? the one I bought from 2020 and pics from Sapphire's website only have 3 heatpipes I think newer batches had the 5700XT cooler in them (no plate for VRM and memory)

It's the only GPU I could find with good enough speed, specs for $100 that I wouldn't regret. Not bad at all considering the alternatives were much more expensive or just a worse GPU overall such as the 6500 XT. 5700 XT would have been nice but can't find any for under $160 which is too much for an older GPU. I'm now seeing some AMD Radeon W5700 GPUs that are powerful and efficient too. You just need mini DP to DP or HDMI adapters I believe, but it would be worth it if you can get one for under $160, ideally $100-$140 which I have seen a couple of times and made me wish I got one due to more VRAM and it should be faster. Oh well, at least the 5600 XT can play games very smoothly and one can always adjust settings to obtain more FPS or not use up too much VRAM in certain titles. I'm loving the low power requirements as this will save you money since you don't need a beefy PS and 450w is said to be the minimum which is low by gaming GPU standards for any older decent card. Good job AMD, can't go wrong now that I'm seeing them for $85-$120. The $100 I paid at the time is well worth it. I'm glad I'm not a fanboy and prefer any GPU with the best price to performance ratio when I buy it. Doesn't make sense to pay more just because of a brand name or to obtain an extra 5fps or so. I owned the same card and I also find this version better looking than the BE(Black Edition) I agree with basically all, in your review, but one thing. The only thing they really fucked up is the 6GB VRAM. And the ONLY reason I say this is that 5500XT comes in a 8GB version. So the Lower spec card came with more VRAM. I know it's a reflex reaction since people didn't want 4GB cards anymore, but that left the 5600XT in a very dumb situation. This could have been another RX 580. Which also came in a 8GB version. 😤 Compared to Next gen RX 6600 and 6600XT I value them more because full x16 Pcie and being cooler. So they fit in the Best All budget Builds like B450 Ryzen Builds because they can use 3 full generations of CPU-s and do not have Pcie 4.0. Which doesn't really make any difference to SSD speeds since these PCs are for gaming not chasing Top specs, since they are 1 gen old. B55 isn't as good, especially in More poor countries, since you can't use dirt cheap used Zen 1 and 2 in a Pinch. And B 350 boards are lacking a bit compared to polish in B450 gen. If RX 6600/XT were x16 I would recommend them over this.

The 5600 XT's weakness is that it has only 6GB of VRAM, it should have been 12GB, but back then GDDR6 was 25-35$ per 2GB and 15-20$ per 1GB.

The 6gb VRAM is what holds this card back moving forward. They really should have made this a much higher VRAM card when you consider the 1080, and the VEGA cards all having 8gb which this card competes against. Plenty of games are showing this with lopsided performance because you have to lower the settings to get under the VRAM limit but still have headroom on the GPU side. Thats not even considering mesh shaders which may become way more common after Alan Wake 2. Its just so goofy that this card easily compares to 8gb cards performance wise but will not age as well as any of those. Even the 1660 cards will likely age better since even they have mesh shader support. Maybe on newer systems with this fast DDR5 system ram the spillover from VRAM into system ram won't be as noticeable but by that point I'd doubt people spending that kind of cash will be holding onto their 5600xt's. A great card for what it does but it does seem a bit like AMD wanted to shorten its potential lifespan as a usable GPU with newer titles.
