Just got a pond prowler 10 and I've taken it out 4 times in the past 12 days. I'm (fortunately) a rather big guy and I have no problem lifting the boat into the flatbed and then pushing it in. But yes, I am getting older and I wont have this physique forever. This seems like a good idea. Oh, btw, I'm in the KZbin rabbit hole of Pond Prowler custom upgrades now!

Awesome! There were times after a long day on the lake, I just put the board in the water and just winched the PP in. I don’t care what anyone says, I’ll save my back. Have fun with your new toy…the options are unlimited!

Great idea and as an older guy I will come up with something like this. Really like the winch board being clamped down as opposed to bolted. I have a hard cover on my truck. I struggle loading and this would eliminate that. Thanks.

Hey pal. Scott Barnes again. Love your idea on loading your boat. What gauge wire did you use to your battery. I bought the harbor freight 2000lb winch and need to purchase wire. Thanks for your time
@JadedAngler

Sorry for the delay. I used 8 gauge wire.

Sliding the rear bottom on the driveway will eventually wear a hole in the bottom.😊
@JadedAngler

This is in my driveway for demonstration. In the real world this occurs at the lake and not on pavers. You are going to have to drag it anyway…whether it’s by this method or not. Thanks for the comment.

@@JadedAngler you could add wheels to the rear of the boat for ease of getting it around once at the lake. 😀
@JadedAngler
@JadedAngler 7 ай бұрын
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 I do have rollers (harbor freight) that I wheel it around on at home. At the lake, the board goes right into the water, so the boat never touches the ground.

Beautiful! I am imagining a pivot system for the boards in the truck itself that would force the motion that you seem to get already. (imagine a rod going across the truck bed that would go in the open section between the 2x8 and 2x10.) But if this works, why over complicate things? I'm thinking of using something similar for my fishing kayak. Thanks for the inspiration!

run a permanent power supply from your battery so you don't have keep hooking and unhooking cables. less chance you'll trip on them

Nice video. After you loaded the boat and put your red safty flags on did you secure that board somehow? Looks like you just pushed it in without any securement it will eventually slide out if not secured somehow.
