Perfect timing with summer heat approaching fast. Thanks for posting this video. We will keep an eye out for updates on the wave 2. Especially how you are going to do the pipes long term. We are still debating where to put our air outlet and air intake pipe. And just a little heads up. The drain hose will need very frequent use especially with high humidity we found. Jerry can or bottle will help though.

Thanks for commenting :) my plan is to build an insert for the window, maybe out of plexiglass or something similar, thanks for the heads up on the drain hose too, I think I may make some sort of hole in the floor which I can poke the drain out of if needed!

A/C in the AUS summer is pretty much a must have. Sweet that Ecoflo sent you one to test. Hopefully as you continue to use it, it'll serve you well and make this summer's adventures that much more enjoyable. Plus some really excellent drone shots again!! Well done Kev!!

Thanks for your comment :) I’m sure I’ll get some good use from it this summer that’s for sure!

I would love to see a night time test when it gets hotter. They say it will last 8hrs on eco mode. Then how long it takes to recharge the next day. Night time sleeping would be the way to go. I live in Cairns, & have a 7 week trip to outback then Adelaide over Christmas next yr.

That’s a great idea, I’ll definitely give that a go and keep you posted :)

i dont see that as eficient, ecoflow cost almost $1000, i rather buy an window 5000btu unit cost $150 and the rest spend on battery capacity upgrade

You can rig a greywater jug or rolling tank for the humidity drain. Nice it does have outlet vented for window. Could probably cut a hole in a quilt insulated window cover. If it is sunny hot, could have a portable ground solar panel to run during day, and invest in battery array to run ac during sun down 12 hours. 🌠🌌 I stayed in a large 3 meter multiroom tent for a summer grad school project. It was under tree canopy with a tarp. Much cooler with shade if able. Totally breezy and comfortable despite humidity. If staying in vehicle with sun...maybe just to take a nap on the way somewhere, the battery pack is good idea. 🌤

Would probably be even cooler inside if you had window covers on as well

I didn’t get a chance to try it with them on yet but I reckon it would be too! :)

I have just bought the ecoflow wave 2 for my hiace. Have you found a permanent way to run your exhaust and inlet hose? I was thinking about drilling a hole in my side step so you can’t see it as I like to stealth camp a lot
@VanlyfАй бұрын
Nice! I haven’t yet but I’m still thinking about how I’ll get it hooked up for stealth! For the time being it works just poked out the window with some corflute but I’m sure I’ll figure out something better in the future! :)

I watched specifically to see how this product goes. I love it except the whopping big two vents coming out through the window. That put me off big time, what a shame as otherwise it is exactly what I would want.
@VanlyfАй бұрын
It does cool well and it seems to be the highest BTU portable air con for its size available, but yes the vents are a little annoying, (maybe they need to be this size for it to be as effective as it is?) Thanks for watching :)
@greenysgarden458129 күн бұрын
@@Vanlyf I was thinking about the vent issue. I think a piece could be made to fit the gap in the window with a 3D printer. This would keep the window closed for (perceived) security and bugs. I have a friend with a 3D printer, I'll ask him about this when I see him. An idea for you too perhaps? I have a HiAce on order (long wait) and have a company lined up to fit it out for me, the van fit out people may also have a solution. I very much wish to be cool when I am travelling.
@Vanlyf29 күн бұрын
@ that’s a good idea! I was able to make a in fill piece out of corflute which works well, I may re-visit this for next summer but it seems to work ok for this year :)
