Regarding using the circle as a pedestrian bridge hub, if you delay upgrading the roads, you can use the grid to more finely place your pieces. If you want a mound the exact height of your bridge, build a temporary bridge to the circle's center then raise the terrain until the bridge starts flattening it out. Then you can set the height to the flattened part and cover the rest of the circle.

If you use traffic manager, increasing the speed of the outside roads will help. By default, the 3 lane he used has a 100km/h speed and the 1 lane ramps have 80km/h, so the cars will choose the inside because it’s faster. If the inner roundabout is set to, say, 60km/h (which is also more realistic and helps more cars enter the roundabout), then they’ll choose the outside lanes. Alternatively, you could force the cars to pick a lane that doesn’t exit immediately, also using traffic manager.

@@miraflynn8935 When you're not limited to vanilla, there's no point for this giant footprint roundabout. You can easily make this work with a much smaller footprint. Also for better lane utilization and preference of the slip roads, every lane should have a designated target, instead of the free for all approach. So one for right turns (e.g. the slip lane) one for straight, one for left. You can also use multiple lanes for the main direction.

Using traffic manager you can also raise the A.I. Setting for cars to select lanes more intelligently.

A vanilla cheat that works reasonably well is changing one or two of the 2-lane highway segments into 2-lane one-way local roads. That drops the speed from 100 to 40 and is usually enough to push the AI into using the 80-rated exit lanes. The vehicles entering the roundabout have no choice and will be forced to temporarily drop to 40. Actually, it's probably more realistic if it's that speed, anyway, though you have no choice but 100 speed for the 3-lane one-way unless you're using Network Extensions or similar.

If your destination is right, you use the slip lane. Left, use the roundabout. Straight, You build a tunnel under the roundabout so they don’t need to use the roundabout. Makes sense. So, to improve this, build a bypass straight one way roads so they don’t need to use the roundabout just to go straight. Also, lane mathematics.

Just add in some traffic manager plus edition to make sure that the A.I. doesn't clog up the roundabout and it's perfect.

Thing is it is good if u plan it, most of time you think traffic is light and won't need a special intersection, then it gets built up and heavy and you need something like this, by then it's too late unless you displace few hundred residents.

At the end of the day, most heavy duty roundabouts look alike. The main difference between today's video and the previous one is all the building instructions clearly detailled in order to allow anybody to reproduce this very same roundabout. On the previous video, I don't remember any kind of building instructions, so either you were good at retro-engineering and you could reproduce it, or you were lost and couldn't redo it. Edit : I checked the timline of the videos, this one is different from the previous one endeed. 10 month ago, it was build with a bypass, meaning it was intended for a crossing between a heavy duty road and a lesser traffic road.

The game is unplayable garbage without mod. It's the only game where I have more than 100 hours of play and a highly negative review on steam for exactly this reason. The developers made a terrible game and the community fixed it. That's how this game is unfortunately.

Well, my intersections are just crossing the highway at highway level and very dense. It works well for a 22K city (i have 5 connections). Traffic flow 82% because at one it takes 20 seconds to cross it lol

For me, I would use with fine road tools for nice curves at the entries & exits. moreover, when u use with fine road tools, you can use a 8 way cross like the UK flag, and the curves from/to every roads will intersect the 45-degree direction at square of the 8 way cross. So that the traffic flow much smoother than this video does. On the other hand, u can also do in very lazy way: build 3 or 4 direction of up-down separate one-way road with 2-3 unit separation and just use "roundabout mod" plop the roundabout at the centre.

Not make any sense round about already have a right turn and also you put a bypass right turn.. It doesn't make any sense to me because some cars still use the round about when going to the east side while it is already have the bypass . What is the real purpose of the bypass?
