Soooo many things to love about this recipe! Thyroid loving (thank you seaweed)! Gut healing (thank you heart of palms), my skin is saying yes YES for all that lovely bell pepper love and it's honoring my island people dem!!! great job, will definitely be making and sharing this!

Ive been dying to make saltfish and i was sitting in the shower the other day thinking about how to salt mushrooms n keep them fresh for days- glad google had a better answer haha. Great recipe this looks so good and authentic!

This made me laugh! Those poor mushrooms...it's a good thing you didn't follow through on this. Those mushrooms would've been wet and soggy lol! But yes, thank goodness for Google helping connect us to folks. I definitely have learned a lot about plant based cooking through the internet. Glad to share, enjoy the recipe!

Yummy. You can grate the hearts of palm on a box grater instead of using a food processor.

I can't wait to try this recipe. I've had my jar of HoP in my cabinet for over a month, not knowing an appetizing way to serve it. Going plant based, we were trying to convert delicious recipes we love. This is a blessing. Thank you for sharing.😍🥰😘

You are so welcome. HoP have so many great "seafood" replacement uses in plant-based cooking. I have some "tuna fish" and "crab cakes" recipes coming this summer :)

Yummy yum. Perhaps soak the heart of palm and nori in a sealed glass jar for 24 hours in future.

Is there a hearts of palm option? Most of them (unless ethically noted) are hurting rainforest, orangutans and other wildlife but I love the idea❤️

Hey Jodie. If you don't want to use hearts of palm, you can sub with jackfruit. It can yield a similar texture. You'd have to process the jackfruit to produce that texture.

If you live in the US, you can purchase at Trader Joe’s or any other grocery store in the canned vegetable aisle. If you live in UK, you can purchase in same aisle. If you live in Peru, it’s widely available fresh. But for this dish using the canned is best

You can use your hands or a fork to shred them

If you have a lot of it then yea you can. But if you’re only doing a small amount a coffee or spice grinder is best
