I personally take chlorella because it seems to me from the research I've done that spirulina has the potential to have more ingredients that are toxic or cause toxicity. But that doesn't mean that Chlorella can't have the it's own issues. I recently purchased a large bag of organic chlorella tablets that when I open them up instead of smelling like a typical Chlorella they smelled like I just walked on a shrimp boat that had been sitting out in the sun and rotting for a few days. So to find a good supplier and a consistent supplier can sometimes be very tricky.

After watching this video I started researching on my own and I found: -Studies on Spirulina are mainly done on animals and those who are done on humans are either inconclusive or faulty often due to small sample size -80% of Spirulina's B12 isnt utilizeable by the human body -Spirulina apparently binds iron which can lead to iron deficiency -it can cause allergic reactions -many spirulina products are contaminated by heavy metals and other harmful compounds Can you please follow up on this, because I dont know what to believe now.
@rebeccavogel48992 жыл бұрын
It looks like Dr. Berg's sources are organic and without heavy metal or pesticide/ herbicide components as are his line of products. I cannot comment about binding iron or absorption. Were the studies on absorption done with healthy folks - healthy digestion - gluten free? I suspect, if there are additives, then they could cause allergic reactions especially if there is a effect concerning zonulin modulators of the intestine (gut permeability).

Gut health & variety of food sources are a big thing for bees, they also drink liquid from mycelium, are enriched with a multiflora pollen/nectar diet & do many things that are naturally health promoting. Spirulina is a type of bacteria called cyanobacterium, which is often referred to as blue-green algae. While health claims for spirulina supplements include purported benefits to our blood pressure, cholesterol, and seasonal allergies, health concerns include potential risk of muscle breakdown, liver cancer, and liver toxicity. Indeed, 94 percent of samples were reported to be contaminated with hepatotoxic microcystin toxins, and a potent neurotoxin appears to have been found in spirulina supplements, as well. Researchers have reported a range of adverse reactions of people taking spirulina products, but they attribute these issues to non-spirulina algae toxin contaminants within spirulina supplements. So unless there is third-party testing of each batch, which no company could presumably afford to do, it may be prudent to avoid spirulina products.

I believe spirulina shouldn't be taken, though, if you've got leaky gut and/or autoimmune disorders. This is likely because the proteins in spirulina are similar enough to some of the protein sequences found in genetic code that once the proteins from the spirulina leaks into the blood stream through the gut wall and causes antibodies to form, cells will similar protein sequences may be seen as foreign invaders by immune cells which tag them as such and causes your own body to be confused and start attacking itself. spirulina unfortunately isn't for everyone.

Also our body doesn't utilize plant or algae proteins the same animal proteins. Another great source of all nutrients dense sources is found in Moringa powder. Its has very much similar nutrients as spirulina and clorela. Moringa also can help correct many,many, many health issues. Give it a try for at least 90 days!! You will notice its great benefits, and is cheaper the Spirulina and clorela

I take spirulina daily and def notice the difference. My 86yr old mum has been taking it. We notice having more energy, our hair and nails grow and healthier and skin is not dry anymore. If I eat something that is hard for me to digest, such as anything with gluten and my stomach is gassy or bloats, I take a few spirulina tablets and it sorts it right out.
