Chlorella grown outdoors is full of heavy metals. She always mentions that her chlorella is grown with tripled filtered spring water which is great but conveniently doesn't mention all the contaminates that fall out of the sky into the ponds while it's being grown. Her product (Recovery Bits) is actually priced almost 3 times as much as other companies that buy their bulk chlorella from the same exact company in Taiwan that grows it outdoors. She doesn't actually own the chlorella factory. She just uses his company to source her ingredient. The cost for a bag of her 'Recovery Bits' is $130 for 1000 tablets. This is completely insane! For comparison, I get 2200 tablets for only $54 of the cleanest chlorella that comes from a factory in Korea where it's grown indoors under tightly controlled conditions.

Thank you for the great information! I know that this information is about people, but I have to tell you about my dog Zoey. She is an American bull dog and in May of 2021 she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Her Veterinarian gave her about two months to live. Her lymph nodes in her neck were very large. I didn't have the money for chemo or anything else. I had been researching sparkling for myself. I read about all of the good things that spirilina could do including slow down or stop cancer. So I bought spirilina in powder form and I started putting it in her food every day. Zoey is still alive and doing good today. Its been over 2 years since she was diagnosed. Spirilina hasn't stopped the cancer, but i believe it has slowed it down significantly. I believe spiralina is a big part of why she is still here today.

I was excited while listening to this video about energy bits and spirulina. However when I went to their website I was saddened by the price. I can't afford what they want. I know some will say you can't afford to be without them. The reality is when you're on a meager fixed income you have to make choices on what you can buy or not buy. Maybe in a few years the price will be more affordable when the newness of these wears off or more competition gets in onthis new fad. Until then I will continue to eat sprouts.😊

I’ve had spirulina powder from Food Coop in Lexington, KY. I love the taste of spirulina. I tried it as a thickener making gravy. If you can get past the color of the gravy, I loved the flavor and texture, velvety smooth. (much like xanthan gum, also a bacteria- use too much and it becomes slimy, spirulina doesn’t seem to) Spirulina has all that nutrients in it.

My reaction is that I vomit non-stop for 12-18 hours, and it’s life threatening. I’m a very healthy person diet wise so I don’t believe what one person told me that I was ‘toxic’ and I was detoxing, this is not the case. I have detoxed many times, and also had spirulina reactions many times, completely different. Spirulina needs to be researched. She says that people were not talking about plant-based nutrition 15 years ago? Are you kidding me? These doctors, researchers, etc think they are the ones discovering things now when pioneers, true pioneers, were the ones who truly sacrificed and paved the road they all walk on now. I appreciate all of the. Don't get me wrong, but the environment is more accepting now because of the sacrifices unsung heroes gave to teach about plant-based nutrition. I was taking these 30 years ago. Because I learned about it from others.

This was a very interesting Pod Cast but it also felt like a hard sell product promotion like you get a time share conference. If Catharine Arnston help up the product one, she held it up a hundred times and by the time i got 3/4 of the way through the Pod Cast i was ready to call it a day. So PLEASE stop the hard sell promotion, it really is very annoying and has really put me off buying this product. I would like to have more scientific facts as the boards she held up very briefly were really hard to see if they backed up her wonder claims. I do not doubt that these products work well but when people are promoting so hard sell then you start to step back and wonder, is this a snake oil or the wonder product she says it is? I will have to do some more research.

Spirulina can live in ponds up to 116° ....spray dried in drums have all of there enzymes intact after drying. Most spirulina is processed this way and are juat as alive as freeze dried. Had a room mate that bought some earthrise powder spirulina that miss placed it in the tip top cabinet in the kitchen in the way back. Expiration date was over 20 years old, it had gone thru 95° to 100° days of at least 30 of those a year since my house is kinda poorly insulated in the east bay of northern California. Made a smoothie with a heaping tsp, got that brain rush that good spirulina can do. Spray dried spirulina is a archival food, i would put it past the wheat berries found in the pyramids of giza, that some could be sprouted into a plant today. For extremes of survival. I have no doubt that that powder thrown into a body of water, give it some bicarbonates would spring into life. Yeah if you are a vegetarian the algaes would be a life saver.

TWO bags of 1,000 tabs EACH (30 spirulina in the morning and 30 chlorella before bed) will last just over 60 days ... and cost you $500 ... but there's a discount that makes it $400 IF you buy multiple.bags. Pricey ... and I always feel "on the fence" about whether to buy again, but usually end up doing so because I haven't put in the research for more cost-effective alternatives. Sigh

Sir, I've been buying for several years ... and perhaps prices have gone up again (from $100 to $108 WITH discount) ... then 4 bags (2 Spir and 2 Chlor) would be $432. TEN tabs each per day is the MINIMUM effective dose according to Catherine ... she suggests 30 per day EACH, which is what I have been consuming (and up to 60 each per day when training). So, at 30 tabs EACH per day, that's a few more than 60 days for $432. Your calculations are based on the minimum ... and I'm not trying for minimium nutrition. Not saying it's not effective (at, say, 20 or more) ... just saying it's bloody expensive nutrition. Regards. @@andrewlankes

Many indigenous cultures relied con algae especially during war time. The Aztecs relied on spirulina they collected from water and rocks. They also ate mostly plant based. Another thing they ate are purple potatoes aka Japanese purple potatoes. Spanish Inquisition changed all of that though. At home we make spirulina or chlorella guacamole, add it to soup, add it to our sardines and anchovies, make smoothies with it etc etc. I yet to make spirulina tortas that azteca use to make along with other popular Mexican greens that support and clean your kidneys and liver. Very interesting how much we've regressed from what our ancestors knew and did. Btw spirulina is what helped me get healthy before conceiving, during pregnancy and after😊
