I have had all the Engine 2 burgers, they are very dry, and they suck, unless you are going to chop them up and stick them in a wrap or taco shell. They are probably Bobby approved because there is no oil, no processed BS. Engine 2 is plant based as apposed to vegan.

Hi Bobby, was looking for the best tasting veggie burger for a cookout. I myself like a 1/3 lb. ground beef burger (80%meat-20%fat) on a butter toasted bun with cheese, pickles, onions and ketchup. But I have a few friends that are vegetarians and want to cook the best tasting burger for them. Don't want a burger that is unhealthy but is does not have to be perfect. I will be 75 years old in July and just love a good burger. In fact, we are going over to my daughters house tonight for burgers. I am going to take a couple of my own made up burgers because they have Turkey burgers to cook. I weigh my ground beef on an electronic scale then press it with a 4-5/8" Weber burger press.

Just because the ingredients may meet your stringent demands for contents it says little about taste. The most burger like burger that is not beef. I will try Amy's but I won't get my hopes up.

Bobby, you're doing a great service for both consumers and food producers here by showing them the way to eat and what to buy! That said, your videos of late have been pre-package & snack heavy. While that's exactly what busy families are looking for, it ignores what's ultimately best for the planet. A move towards buying bulk (minus packaging,) making your own, and growing your own (if at all possible,) is really the best way to go. Buying prepackaged/premade foods (including drinks of all things,) is a move away from where we should be going. Showing kids how things grow from the ground up and how to cook and how to choose ingredients is empowering and good for the planet. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."
@tonye.54102 жыл бұрын
Apart from the planet, the better reason would be for health. Its healthier to get away from pre-packaged goods.

Ronald Joseph Not a substitute for a filet mignon, but try grilling a Portobello mushroom as a burger substitute. I marinate the mushroom in a garlic-herb EVOO vinaigrette overnight, and then grill it on the stove in a ridged grill pan (or outdoors on a grill). I serve it like a hamburger, on a bun with traditional toppings and condiments.

So we just found this channel....as my husband and I really need to lose some weight and eat healthier (we got blood testing back; high cholesterol, inflammation, low vitamin D). I bought some stuff I thought was healthier the first week of the new year....just looked at the ingredients...full of *natural flavor, sucralos, and more. I know feel like I failed-wasted money. Do people toss all their food once they watch this channel? Ugh, so much money...anyway I am going to focus on the good, my win, lucked into buying Bobby approved Avocado mayo. Woohoo.
@karenlucci21544 жыл бұрын
I have been buying Bobby Approved foods recently too including the mayo. I want to eat healthier as I get older. Don't want to hand out what little money I have to doctors and Big Pharma but rather spend money on healthier foods for my body! I wish you both well on your journey.
@Sunshine-yl4vx4 жыл бұрын
The best way to do it is replace the old bad food with the Bobby approved food when you run out. I mean who can afford to toss out their entire pantry? Not many. If you can replace a few items to start then great but that's the best way I think to do it. Check out the Paleo diet and consider adding MCT oil to your diet. That will help with your high cholesterol. It can be added to your coffee, tea or smoothie. For Vitamin D.. 🌞 lots of it.

First, I'm an omnivore who loves beef burgers. However, some "veggie" burgers just taste very good, so I eat them. My favorite is Amy's Quarter Pound Veggie Burger, overall. I like the flavor and size (I'm 6'1" so the standard smaller burgers are a bit small for a meal). It may not be perfect in the ingredients, but it's better than most. Also, it tastes close to a real burger. No, not exactly, but close enough for rock & roll. Take care.
