I eat fairly clean, I enjoy Lindt 85%. Even my 11 year old enjoys it, not too bitter. They use real vanilla and Demerara sugar. Demerara has a lower GI than most other sugars and in 4 big squares (40g) it's only 5g of sugar! 9 net carbs. I usually have 2 squares, 4.5 net carbs, and that satisfies my sweet tooth, unless it was one of those days.

I am a vegetarian but I have in the last month read all my labels and completely overhauled my kitchen to be organic, no gmo and low to no sugar. I still say grains because I can't digest lactose so my diet is pretty restrictive anyway, mostly vegan. I wanted to say thanks you because my mom fasting blood sugar went from 106 which is prediabetic to 80 which is completely normal. I have been fighting diabetes off and making those changes helped so much. Also I don't get hypoglycemia anymore. I used to have to eat to prevent feeling sick, now I can go a while between eating and I directly connect that to taking the natural labors out of my food, drinks and vitamins. Can't thank you enough. You have made me much healthier and going to the market doesn't seem overwhelming snymore. It's pretty cut and dry what I can and can't eat. Changing our rice this week to wild rice. I'm sure this will just further help my blood sugar.

@bravestar7253 жыл бұрын
It can be, but it’s worth it. Think about what else you are spending your money on. I am sure there are some things that you can cut back on or prioritize. In my opinion, what you put in your body is super important. Make some cutbacks or some adjustments on how you are spending and what you are spending it on. Some items you do want premium, but some you do not. If you do some research and some homework, you will find that it is not expensive as you think. On this journey of health and quality foods, you will find good deals and certain ways to make things work without breaking the bank. 💪💪. And keep listening to Bobby, this dude rules!!

It’s a shame that eating healthy breaks your wallet while eat like crap is so affordable. 💸🙁
@wolflover4life194 жыл бұрын
Seriously. The biggest lie fitness people say is eating healthy cab be cheaper. Well sure if you're eating out and getting fast food all the time lol. But then I think I have to balance the cost with cost later( in healthcare costs,etc..). So I think even switching a few things is a great start for us!
@THEGAMINGHELP1014 жыл бұрын
The thing is that growing organic is more costly than growing non-organic so they have to pace the cost to the consumer. Also don't think farms are all big rich farms that should be able to take the extra cost because most farms are just family-run farms that don't make that much money anyway.
@jasong60114 жыл бұрын
It is expensive but I break it down per meal. For example vital farms pasture raised organic eggs, $6 a dozen. This morning I made 3 eggs, 3 pancakes with a yogurt cup. All healthy(and Bobby approved items) I'll say it came out to maybe $4 for the whole meal. If I went out to my local diner like I always used to do, it would probably be double that. Another tip is start small. I started switching out a few items at a time so I got used to spending a little more on less food at whole foods versus my everyday store. Also meal prep is a great option. I meal prep my dinners on Sunday(for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and then on Wednesday(for Thursday Friday Saturday). That way I know exactly what I need to buy at the store to keep costs down.

I’m making my own snack now. Energy balls. I just throw all my ingredients in a food processor and it’s very quick. Soak my dates for 10 min in warm water and drain and place in the processor about a cup and then I use 1/2 cup of unsweetened peanut butter. A scoop of collagen powder a cup of sprouted oatmeal and some dark chocolate chips and some ground flax and blend. If it won’t bind and too dry I add a little splash of almond milk but very small amount. Scrape out into a bowl and place in the refrigerator for 30 min so the oatmeal gets soft. I put on rubber gloves and roll into balls and place in a sealable container and place back in the refrigerator overnight. I will eat 3 for breakfast with a coffee at work. Quick and easy breakfast at work. Reminds me of a Larbar. This recipe gets you about 30 energy balls. I also have a container of ground up pecan’s and almonds which I will toss in. Just kinda do what you want with different ingredients.

Can you do a video around protein powders, specifically for meal replacement? There are so many choices! Thanks! Love your videos - they are extremely informative!
@johnjohng6684 жыл бұрын
Fran Barbuto Fran, please don’t do it! A powder is not a meal. They were designed mainly for people who are chronically ill or dying and cannot consume food. Please eat real food without substitutes like powders, or it could adversely affect your health. Plus, these powders have a lot of protein, which, with a regular diet, could put excess strain on your kidneys (as I learned the hard way) :-(( Many of these powders are contaminated with heavy metals, and those can go directly in the brain, ultimately affecting mental and physical health. You can research this and Newsweek even had an article in it. So, please be aware of the potential health dangers with powders. Take care.

I get the Trader Joe’s Fair Trade Organic 72% cacao Belgian dark bar. I love the taste and consistency. Bobby would not approve it, as it contains cane sugar. That doesn’t bother me. I’m leery of all these new sweeteners. I’d rather have a bit of real organic can sugar. I love watching Bobby’s videos, but truly (and unfortunately), nutrition is a pseudo-science. That’s why there are so many conflicting points of view. My attitude for the past 3 decades has been to try my best to eat a mostly plant-based diet, with as few processed foods as possible. It’s very frustrating and disheartening, as we don’t really know much about where our food comes from. We are misled and lied to all the time.

@@randigerber1926 thanks for this comment. I totally get avoiding copious amounts of cane sugar but I have such a hard time believing that a truly small amount of organic cane sugar is really worse than things like stevia, etc...maybe it's because it takes even less of those sweetners? 🤷♀️

I bought a Lindt 90%dark chocolate bar and also a Lilly sugar free one and a new one called Alter eco 90% cacao. Preferred the lilly and Lindt. Although the latter tasted kind of bitter and had 2 grams of sugar in 3 squares. I usually have 1 square a day. Sometimes I like a bitter edge to the chocolate though.

I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I do occasionally snack on Lili's dark chocolate chips, I used to get the chocolate bar but found the chocolate chips to be cheaper per once. And I enjoy making hot cocoa using cacao powder and maple syrup. And if I'm really in the mood for a treat I make my own chocolate bars with cacao powder, coconut oil, and maple syrup. All that said, I actually don't eat chocolate all that often, as much as I love it, I had to cut way back because I'm super sensitive to caffeine and it was trigger nerve pain flare ups. I went from one serving a day to one serving a week, sometimes one every other week. Chocolate is the only source of caffeine in my diet.
