Are you sure? I really feel like it was overhyped for what it was worth. Sherlock just retold a version of the death of Batman's parents (that's all? that's not even an insult, since Batman sees their deaths as the source of his strength in several versions), then called him a batshit crazy basket case (ok...?), then said his two opponents were easy to diss (but he only targeted Batman but not Robin...?), then mistakes "elementary my dear Watson" for his "catchphrase," which it is not. And even if it was his catchphrase, how would that even be a diss? He had very good disses in his first verse, but...... I'm not even gonna say he had bad disses in his last verse. I'm gonna say Sherlock had no disses at all in his last verse. Okay cool Sherlock, you read one of Batman's flashbacks, you sum up what you read, with a nice rhyme pattern but no exceptionally clever writing... You're writing a poem, but you forgot you were in a rap battle, Sherlock. You forgot to diss your opponents. 🤦‍♂ Anyway, yeah. That was probably the worst verse in the entire battle. People keep saying Batman's first verse is the worst, but only the two first lines of it were bad (and the last line too). The "bangers and mash"/"Tango and Cash" was a pretty awesome rhyme pattern, but also didn't forget to diss the opponent. Then the comparison to Velma/Scooby Doo was more of an insult than anything in Sherlock's last verse. Even the "nothing makes me laugh but I bet your raps can" was a lot more cleverly written, wasn't it?

@@quartzeemer9071 so like what universe are you from, cause in what way was Sherlock's second verse the worst verse in the battle? nothing will ever beat the cringe that i suffer when i hear the first bar from Bats. it's such a weak opening line, and that, for me, takes away from the entire rest of his battle. he makes up for it with verse two and ends it with a haymaker, but yeah, i can't help but feel that just on performance alone, Sherlock takes that battle every time.

If his opening line takes away everything else he says, then there's nothing wrong with it, but I don't think I necessarily come from another universe for liking Batman's good lines. Let's just say I focus on the full half of the glass while most people focus on the empty half. Of course Sherlock probably wins, since his first verse was probably the best of the battle. But that doesn't change how bad and 100% empty his final verse was.

I have a few disagreements, like: - the first verse of Colombus (who didn't have any disses until the end of his second verse) - the first verse of Leonidas (in which the only diss, about the fat nerds on computers, was weirdly out of place since all his other lines sounded like stuff the actual Leonidas could say) - the second verse of Al Capone (weaker flow than all the other verses, fewer punchlines, jarring Kenway reference, and a wrong meaning of "al dente") But I really appreciate some of your hot takes, like Mr. T or Bill Gates or Bruce Lee or MLK or Skrillex or Bill Nye... I even agree with a lot of those.
