I still say the Garrosh we saw in Stonetalon was peak. It gave him so much more than just 'kill, kill, never stop', he had a weird code about warfare and it showed when he went as far as executing the same general he told to secure the place. Then when he thinks you're involved he's about to do you the same way until the same man who lost it all in one day vouches for you. And Garrosh _actually_ takes it, not because 'lol player character' but because he recognizes 'yeah, okay, fair enough'.

Garrosh's story is probably one of my favs. WoD was abandoned by the dev team to focus more on the Legion launch. . . which is why the Iron Horde never truly felt like a huge threat. Very large missed opportunity there by Blizz, that would have been amazing. Hell, they never even finished Fahralon (Netherstorm), which at the time was going to be a starter zone for new players I believe. Had they embelished the Iron Horde, Garrosh's involvement with it, and fleshed out WoD more. . . pretty sure people would call out today that it was one of their favorite expansions. I hate seeing creative missed opportunities! (as it stands, WoD is still one of my fav expansions visually. They made a living, beautiful world but forgot the heart)

They got lazy with Garrosh, they could of turned him villain in so many other ways, but instead they said. "hmm Nope lets make Garrosh the WoW version of Hitler." I disagree I think had they gone another way and slowly corrupted Garrosh. Hell maybe given him a wife we like, and tried to have an honorable war with the Alliance for (insert reason.) she ends up dying and this is the thing that sends him over the edge. Make his part in Pandaria more about finding a power to bring her back, and this is where he loses his way to the sha, and goes full war criminal. So that we could have something similar to WoD, but not having Garrosh be a straight up Hilter as they decided to make him. ( like where they were headed with that one stone talon mountain quest, but that quest was never suppose to be in the game. because they chose to go with nazi garrosh, but forgot to remove that quest. AS for WoD. WOD had great story, and story telling untill they decided to cut it off at the knees and not finish the content in Lue of starting on Legion. Not only did we miss out on a huge part of Yrel's story, we lost an entire zone/raid as well.

And to the people that said Thrall Cheated. In a Mak'gora, the rules have to be agreed upon before hand, otherwise its no holds barred. Garrosh's pride over took his wisdom and intelligence. Had he been smart he would of banned Thrall's magic's, but he didn't. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
@harz6328 ай бұрын
People were right in saying that Thrall cheated, using the elements is not using your own power, if this is a Mak'Gora that is, not sure if it every was established to be one or if it was just a fight to the death. Thrall lost the ability to use the Doomhammer and to use most of his elemental powers not because he cheated but because on one hand even though he doesn't admit it in the cinematic, he knows Garrosh was right, Garrosh didn't want to be a Warchief but Thrall insisted on him becoming one, all the crimes and war could have been avoided if Thrall hadn't pushed Garrosh into that role, he is a broken man after that cinematic. The other reason why he lost these powers is because he used the elements in anger, he took pleasure in killing Garrosh in that moment he used his powers to force all of the four elements to obliterate a opponent that was already defeated, Thrall didn't win the fight, he butchered Garrosh and enjoyed it, in that moment he was an Orc just like Garrosh and his true Horde, revelling in the feeling of annihilating an enemy with overwhelming power and he realized how addicting and easy it was to fall for it. Both the elements, realizing how unhinged Thrall can be didn't want to give him their power anymore.
@vixey63393 ай бұрын
Yes! Perfect summation of what happened. I admittedly never cared for Thrall, cause aside from establishing the Horde as we know it, he pushed a warrior to be a leader, a warrior who didn't want that role. He abandoned the Horde to go play jesus for Azeroth during the Cataclysm. And when he finally decided to come back to it, he took zero responsibility for his actions causing the Horde to fall apart, instead just pinning everything on Garrosh just cause the orc led the Horde as he thought it should've been led. Does that excuse Garrosh's actions? No. But they wouldn't have happened in the first place if Thrall hadn't left. Its why i'm honestly glad he lost those shamanistic powers, cause he used them in anger and for power in that moment, and clearly enjoyed it. Now he's just a warrior, and I hope they never put in some way that gives him those shaman powers back

To everyone claiming that Thrall cheated in final cinematic.: Rules of each individual Mak'gora are set before the duel itself. Same with Varok vs Sylvanas, no one ask before to exclude magic.

@@Valhallen002 I don't think you comprehend how growing up in certain scenarios will literally dictate the person you are. The whole nature vs nurture spiel. If you bring up a child in the worst circumstances, the child isn't at fault for who they've become. Like in an alternate universe, all of the worst leaders/killers could've been very nice people if circumstances were different. So no, Garrosh wouldn't have been able to make different choices due to how he was shaped. Does that help you?

Was Garrosh v Thrall a Mak'Gora, or was it just a case of Thrall wanted him dead? If it wasn't a Mak'Gora, does that still count as Thrall cheating? Relatively new to WoW so idk if it's a Mak'Gora rule or just an Orc rule in general
@TheRaimundis8 ай бұрын
It was a Mak'Gora. Thrall cheated because you are allowed only 1 weapon, and he used his magic when he was losing. The elements stopped answering his call after the duel, until finally in legion he gave up doomhammer as he faced the fact that he needed to work through what he did, and stepped back to focus on his family.
@PinchHitHero8 ай бұрын
Using magic is not cheating during Mak'Gora in the game. There were Mak'Gora before this one that used magic and it was not considered cheating. Thrall lost his connection to the elements because of guilt and self-doubt. He felt guilty for using the elements in a way he viewed as wrong (for vengeance), not because he cheated.

Mak'gora has its traditional rules, No adding on it. Or its considered cheating. Var'ok Sauerfang called out sylvanas for a Mak'gora Yet she used magic to win it. u can argue she's an elf and has no idea about Orcisch makgoras. But that won't make her not a cheater. About thrall vs garosh It was 1v1 between two orcs And all 1v1 outside a battle is a mak'gora by default. Thrall himself know that and paid his shamanism as a price for his cheating.
