I've seen this performance before, but Faouzia's astounding vocal displays never get old! "Desert Rose" was a great song choice for her. It's a song by English singer Sting which he co-wrote with Algerian songwriter Cheb Mami in 2000. Faouzia was born in Morocco which, like Algeria, is in North Africa, and Arabic is spoken in both countries. Faouzia's lush singing includes Arabic styles. Her performance here was dreamy and enchanting, like her weaving a magic spell -- it transported my mind to a desert night! 🏜🐫

You're referring to Darija. Cheb Mami's vocal style sounds like the typical Arabic tune, but Faouzia's vocals are distinctive, and she has also adjusted a few notes. I love her rendition. She's a great vocalist

Ever since I heard her sing this song a few years ago, I have considered the song to be a Faouzia song, not a Sting song! She sung the song as it was written, in English and Arabic. Sting sang it with Algerian singer Cheb Mami in the original. The finale is tomorrow.

Hi, nice reaction again. if i am not wrong, in this competition, it is not allowed to use autotune (in first episode most of singers was so nervous, almost scared) Next episode will be the FINALE (EP12) it would be great if when you stop videos for your thoughts, you restart going back one or two seconds to preserve a countinuity in the perception of the song (clearly it is on you, it is just a little advice) Thank you, keep up the good work 🙂

Desert Rose was orignally sung by Sting. All of Faouzia's peformances on Singer 2024 are great. In this performance one of the notes at 1:33 was not completely on point, but that happens to the best. She is amazing.

She is indeed incredible! I think I know what you're referring to, but I have to say I don't think it was a mistake. It was an intentional break into falsetto for flavour and I absolutely love it!

It's not the note, it's the arabic letter that was not completely on point.. In the original song, Cheb Mami sings "ana w عla" but Faouzia is singing "ana عla" which I think makes it more difficult to pronouce that letter properly.. but she always sings it that way and it's completely fine
