Im a little late to the party and i was wanting you to reveiew this plane. I have TWO of them thats how much i love this plane. I dont use flaps at all for landings. Yes trying to stall it is pretty hard. My grandfather flew this plane and he comes to the field with me when i bring them out. I have all of my settings on high with the exception of the rudder. The rudder is massive and on high rates it will do an awesome tail slide...LOL. The speed is amazing. My older Tigercat i did experiment with more powerful motors and two bladed props just to see what would happen and jeez its a monster. It was just fun but i prefer scale flying. Overall for a heavy plane it flies beautifully. Suggestion on smaller packs. Use a higher C rating, the battery will get pretty hot. Overall FMS knocked it out of the park with this one. The real Tigercat if you look it up was a heavy plane with oversized engines. My grandfather said it was beast of a plane but a real lady in the air.

I use a 6s 7000 all the way foward. I did use the smc pack you are using and other 5000 packs but the battery got pretty hot. You're brave that much throw on the rudder, it's so BIG that you can seriously tail slide it on the bigger throws like you have. Yes it's stall characteristics are very gentle cause of the slight dihedral and such massive wings. But over all its amazing plane...LMAO yea it takes up my WHOLE truck bed..😂

FYI there is a difference between gyro and safe. Both have their place. I am an instructor in our club and the general encouragement is ... yes use your safe until you are comfortable but get out of safe as soon as possible.
@TwoBrosRC Жыл бұрын
We still have SAFE enabled in our aircraft in case of emergency. There's nothing wrong with having it or using it so long as the pilot flying it prefers it.
@johnberrios4255 Жыл бұрын
I also fly most of my planes with gyro and Safe and just turn up the gains in both. I have older guys at my club on how i am flying and getting away with what im doing in the meantime they are crashing thiers 😂. Ive actually have started teaching some of the older guys on how to program thier receivers and getting the most out of the new technology. Yes i agree fly how want to fly as long as its safe and you're having fun. In my opinion at least in my experience it seems like most of these nay sayers on gyros it just seems like they dont understand what its really doing in the background. Gyros and Safe or whatever you want to call it doesn't fly it for you (it just smooths out the inputs). I have several family members that are airline pilots and nobody says oh hey youre not a pilot cause the computer flies it for you or pretty much lands it for you. By the way i got them into RC and they are a huge resource for me on flight characteristics, wing loading, and aerodynamics. I highly recommend to anyone if they have a friend ot family member that are pilots pick thier brains. I cant tell you how many times that they were either with me at the field or i was filming something and had an issue I.E Crash and they helped me recognize what went wrong (what i did wrong) 😢. Anyway i REALLY enjoy youre revamped channel and have been a subscriber for a good minute. Keep it up Jon. Have fun and keep doing what youre doing and hey there are always going to be haters😂. The videos on my channel if you would like to see the crash to bad it didn't have yur stickers on it. Great flying of the tigercat bro. 😊
@TwoBrosRC Жыл бұрын
That's unfortunate! You got into a nasty stall caused by excessive bank angle with elevator input without enough airspeed to keep the inboard wing from dropping. Sucks that it happened, but everyone goes through it. Keep your spirits up - it's a common mistake but easy to remember to throttle up in banked turns to minimize it!
@AndrewCleveland-n9h11 ай бұрын
Hi @twobrosrc- just curious, you used a 4400 LIHV pack for the second flight and I didn’t see the voltage afterward? Have been flying this with a 6000 mah pack and although it flies great I’d love to get some weight out of the airplane if the smaller packs have a reasonable flying time. Thx!
@TwoBrosRC11 ай бұрын
We almost never show the voltage because we fly with voltage telemetry and land normally around 3.8v/cell. You should get at least 5 minutes out of a 4400 class pack.
@Estuardomendez13 Жыл бұрын
so i got the flightline f7f and it wasnt slow it kept up with the eflite mustang (the 6s big one) with 4s batteries but it was anoying that one batt always loss power before the other slightly making the plane go out of trim on throttle. so i made a little adaptor and turned it into a 6S plane, stock motors, stock props, 103mph on the gps. it has unlimited vertical climb and it sounds scary. it getd a bit hot but it can fly and even climb at 25% throttle so most of the flight it runs fairly cool, i did throw a blade off a prop once and the motor vibrated so much it ripped the motor mount off the foam and destroyed the plastic cover but i 3D printed a new one,. i glued the props and they work great now no more chucking blades. although the painted tips are starting to chip from the airspeed😅

Hey John would you recommend Dubro no bouce wheels? I just would like to have it a little noisy on take-offs and landings. Great video. I'm putting one together now, it's a huge heavy beast. Question, would the stall test be different if as3x was turned off?
@TwoBrosRC Жыл бұрын
It wouldn't make a difference with AS3X on or off, the gyro isn't active in the pitch axis when the stick is beyond 35% input, and the amount of rudder/aileron movement available to the gyro is too small to be of any noticeable impact at the low airspeed available to the wings when it's falling.

Anyone familiar with Taranis X9D radio and Frsky S6R receiver? After watching the video on the viper jet, I bought one and installed the receiver and was able to bind without a problem. When I check the inputs and mixes, there are no mixes set. 150 travel is full servo movement. Dual Rates set to 100% with 150/150 servo travel results in 150% rates. You'd want those settings to get more roll, pitch, and yaw authority out of the model - or if you're happy with 100/100 and 100% rates, you're still going to have a fun experience regardless.
