This is really, really useful, thank you. Esp the tip about not cleaning in circles - I wouldn't have known that.

What rype of microfiber cloth are you using???

If it contains grease I don't recommend it. Oil loves dirt❤ and on the long run grease/oil attracts dirt and over time it creates a layer of yellowish grease. Your once greyish shiny elevator will start looking like old pots. Trust me ecoloco...That's a no no

You're absolutely right. The best way to clean it is by using a wet shop towel with bar keepers. And then wipe of the bar keepers with moist paper towels, always going up and down with the grain, NEVER in circles or sideways.

@@omarcampuzano3108I’m sorry, but can you explain why never in circles or sideways?

@CarlosViniciusds Elevators have a grain, and it's always vertically. When you wipe anything on stainless steel even if you're using a microfiber cloth, but going against the grain, you're only scratching the metal. I am a metal refinisher, and I basically fix this issue when building managers don't want to see the circles or scratches across the elevator entrances. We have to sand the metal to remove all the superficial scratches.

@CarlosViniciusds Also using stainless steel sprays isn't the best way to make them look good. Those are meant for the stainless appliances, not industrial stainless like the one used for elevators. Try Sheila Shine instead and always go up and down when wiping it on with a microfiber cloth and try not to damp the rag too much, a little goes a long way.

That's actually THE worst way to "clean" stainless steel. You're not cleaning it. That's like pushing dirt under the rug.
