As I recall, the number of access cards you need is the difficulty minus two. Very rarely (I've seen it happen twice in total) you can get three wrecks through one portal. The construction menu filter doesn't apply to the crafting stations, but I guess the reasoning is that multitool microchips are upgraded from the previous tier in a way that machines aren't. You can find even better fish eggs in the beach biome but you have to wait for the water first.

Will need T3 Mines to get them, other than picking them up from the floor, I've started the game from scratch, and my base is near the Rainbow mines...

The main thing to make sure to do when you enter the wreck ship is to drop a specific color flare at the first "intersection" (ideally a couple of steps before). That way no matter how lost you are you will eventually hit the flare. Otherwise there's nothing to distinguish the "exit" corridor from the rest. All the other flares are optional depending on the difficulty. Extra pro-tip: take a can or two of air as the ships in some instances can actually be flooded.

Don't forget to buy the cooking station from the rocket.. super food might be better, but every home needs a kitchen. Lol

Wait did they take off the bees from the insect rocket? That was the best part! I've seen a couple other creators hitting some wildly big wreaks on difficulty 1 portals so I'm not sure how much of an influence the difficulty has on the wreak, but more the needed resources, keys, and size of the area to search for the wreaks. Really looking forward to playing again, getting closer to taking a break for Factorio SE, I just hit 150hrs in and maybe 20% finished so still long loooong way to go.
