You make this look so easy. I have a lot of practice ahead of me. Thank you for showing how to do this with a background.

I still set time aside to just play around in the software. If there's no outcome in mind, there's a lot less stress of something doesn't go right. 🤣

This studio is very user friendly compared to any other tool like Photoshop illustrator or krita .. straight forward.. tool..

... you really do make it easy - and then when I try. - I end up in tears!

I’m too impatient, with editing points, but taking the eraser and then using the trace feature may be work as combining the two methods seems like a good try so you wouldn’t have to invest too much time?

I'll have to try that! Great idea.

As always Brenda, another brilliant tutorial. There are so many features to Silhouette Studio that I'd never have known about without your concise instruction and excellant delivery! I've just got my hands on the Type-C pen holder and had a play with getting my Cameo 5 to draw some Spirograph patterns. I was using the ES mat, but having trouble with the paper becoming loose, particularly on the denser patterns as the paper was starting to crinkle. Do you have any suggestions? I'd love a tutorial on using the pen holder. I left the settings as standard, but the force seemed a little high, I think it was 7?

I still have to order that adapter. I completely forgot about it! But I will, and I'll put a video out. Is your mat staying charged the whole time? I would definitely try letting the force, but also watch to see if your mat is shutting down.

How long did it take you to get to this proficiency? I would actually like a video of you seated at your computer doing this. You make it look a lot easier then it is.

I started working with Silhouette in 2019, and took the Instructor certification class in 2021. I use the software about 3-4 hours every day. So, I do use it more than most, but some of the video is sped up or cut, as well, because nobody wants to watch me fumble through a video. While I like to believe that I'm a Silhouette rockstar, there are moments, and even days when I'm not at my best. That just gets cut and makes the editing process longer. LOL. Just keep practicing and playing around with the software. It all becomes habit, eventually.

Thank you for your honest reply. I appreciate you’re doing this. I just wish there was an easier way for us “dabblers”.

@billik40 The best advice I have is to set aside time to just play with the software. Push all of the buttons and see what they do. 🤣 There is a lot less stress if you don't have a project to complete, which means you'll soak it all in a lot easier.

Do you know why when you use the eraser it would make the whole picture disappear and you can’t see it anymore. Mine used to do what yours just did in this video. I could see what I was erasing now it doesn’t work anymore.

This has happened to me. I think the software was just bogged down. Clear out your recovered documents and restart the software. Make sure the file you're working with isn't corrupt.

I really appreciate the tutorials, but honestly, the music is really distracting- especially when I am trying to learn graphics programs. ❤
@silhouettesuccess7 ай бұрын
I have to walk the line between getting easy to understand instruction out and keeping people watching. Typically, I leave the music out during the software portion, but that wasn't really possible with this one. It was just a different format. Truth is, if most people get bored in 60 seconds and click off of the video, then nobody sees the info at all. If I add in some music, different camera angles. Etc, then people stay longer, and it spreads to more crafters. I would love to put out unedited videos, but because the human attention span is shrinking all the time, it would be pointless. I spend about 1-3 hours filming and 5-7 hours editing and packaging the video. It's the youtube game.

@silhouettesuccess I totally get it! Not trying to be critical, I just have trouble focusing on the software details!

Dang, I didn't even notice the music till you pointed it out. I was engaged in what she was saying. 😂😊 I need to learn to stop reading comments. Till end of video 😅😂

@@silhouettesuccess Sad to think we don't want to "listen and learn" anymore. You do the best job instructing us. I have listened to lots of your videos more that once. Thank you for your time and editing skills.

@wildathompson662 thank you for the kind words 😊 Everyone learns differently. I just try to get as much information out as I can.
