I really wish that this game had more fun and varied boss fights. Maybe some rival Erusean/Belkan remnant squadrons like in Zero. But instead it goes: >Fight the invincible Arsenal Birb. >Fight invincible Mihaly who can PSM at 2000km/h+ and then accelerate like a bullet. >Fight the annoying ADF-10 mosquito. >Fight the Arsenal Birb again only you just need to shoot two props to kill it. >Fight invincible Mihaly again. >Fight Mihaly again but now you can actually kill him. >Fight the MISSILE Arsenal Birb MISSILE again but MISSILE this time you MISSILE can actually MISSILE kill it MISSILE. >Fight Mihaly again but this time there's two of him and they're drones. >Fight the annoying ADF-10 mosquito again but it's even more annoying this time. So all in all it's 3 bosses repeated over and over.

We are lucky to have another Ace Combat. Try to enjoy the game for what it is. The "boss fights" are built around the games story, which is more belkan espionage and infiltration. The only boss fights AC4 had was Stonehenge and the Yellow Squadron which you fought multiple times. Literally no other boss fights. You don't fight Ace Squadrons in this game but you do have special missions where you fight Ace pilots.

In the last arse bird fight I like to disarm it, take out all the drones and then kill it. And yes, Mihaly's PSMs are more annoying than the plot armor. For you they're almost useless because you have to slow down below 450 km/h, but he moves like on rails. And moves at triple your speed even if you have the same plane as him.

I can confirm this as well. My buddy and I both did this on Ace Combat 4. Also on AC5 you can shoot down a fighter jet while using guns before the gun reticle shows up.

It was quite rushed. Development of the game we have really started in late 2017. And while a year is pretty average for the modern industry Ace Combat has always had a longer development cycle.

@@TugaAvenger Mihaly also ejected when you destroy his X-02S. Proof? Mihaly makes it to the ending cutscene of the game. If the explosion sound makes you think he died, then maybe Mihaly is so good of an ace that he probably perfectly timed his eject. Maybe right when the plane skimmed the grass. Or maybe he didn't eject & the X-02S had a tub of titanium like an A-10, protecting him from the crash.

I know I've said this over DMs, but I feel like in general AC7 has the best gameplay-story integration of any of the Kono produced ACs. I feel like, Faceless Soldier aside, its rare to be in positions of having literally nothing to do, and the game is pretty good at recognizing player activities; like the radio callouts will sometimes be completely ommitted if you move fast enough.

Hot take, the Yellows were just another way how AC4>AC7. The Yellows were heavily scripted, specially the first time you met them in lifeline and you were forced to flee or fail the mission, but for most of the time you just had to hit them once or twice and they would disappear. Much like in AC5, here we have to wait for the dialogue and it feels like being stuck in a cutscene.

The more I look at this video, the more I see how much control I lack while "focusing" (however it is called, holding triangle button on Dualshocks) on a target. Grew on AC2 and flying with D-pad so I don't even know if that exist in AC2 but in any case, never used it. Same with AC3. Never really needed it, not even now but it's a skill I want to master because Ace Combat >>> everything.

Like the captions said they "THINK" the plot armor wears off when Count gets his shit together. They were probably firing before that because they simply didn't know, but this pretty much proves it. I guess you could say why not make a video showing that without all the missle firing but that'd be extra work for a very niche group of people who care.

The Yellows were highly maneuverable to the point of being nigh-impossible to hit in their first appearance, a better disguise to their plot armor. Ironic, since Mihaly is Yellow Squad's instructor (AAW 2019). I mean, I know that Sol's first encounter is in a stormy valley, but still.

Whenever I want to not deal with his bullshit I'll just use a MiG-21b with MGPs. Just wait for him to head-on you and fire away. Same thing with PSLS on whatever jets have those, like MiG-31. Or just abuse the Season Pass ADF-11's UAV special weapons to do all the dogfighting for you.

I know that this is Ace Combat and Mister X is supposed to be a boss enemy but the bullshit impossibly high G turns he makes are fucking infuriating. It breaks immersion when the AI has to cheat physics to become a challenging enemy when even the player cant turn as tight as Mister X. Fighting scream and Rage was much more fun.

Plot armor is overrated, previous bosses didn't have it. For Yellow squadron in Ace combat 4 they did it cleverly by making them hard to hit in the early stages of the game.

@@TugaAvenger I already S rank it. Can you teach me mission 19 and 20 instead? It's a huge problem for me. Currently stuck on the death timer where Avril shows up in Mission 17. Trying to S rank it but I don't know how exactly you incorporate guns to destroy ground targets. I usually fail to destroy the target in 1 pass with the guns, the gun aiming is confusing and it's not clear where exactly I'm shooting at. If I bring air to ground, lots of Su-planes will escape once I have killed the bombers. I wonder if I can S rank without points from the Su-planes.

For guns, ignore the gun piper, it floats too much and is rarely accurate. Try to aim by looking at the tracers, and get a feel for it through experience - no replacement for that, sadly. Also, the gun piper shows up at 800 meters but its actual range is 2000: you can start shooting way earlier.

I did something that broke the mission which i have to restart to checkpoint Somehow, if you kill all Sol squadron except Mr.X as soon as they arrive, the mission stuck with a single ai jet against Mr.X while the others are in pursuit but later they just fly above randomly You can destroy them using any jets that have long range insta kill weapon such as EML or Lasers and kill them when they are near altogether at the right moment Or you can use cheats

I honestly hate when games script shit so that it looks like you should be able to hit the enemy but can't. Just disable the targetting system tbh, that's what AC3 does, in missions where enemies are present but you shouldn't kill them yet, they aren't targettable. Makes it more realistic too, like your systems don't allow you to engage with this particular enemy because it's against mission orders or something, it's more plausible than the enemy having infinite health and stupid high maneuverability. The drones in the final mission, for example, are almost untouchable until the final phase of the mission where suddenly the script executes the "okay now kill them" part and they become easy pickings.

@@strider117aldo9 I know the first prototype, the white one isn't scripted, it's easy as hell, but the two ones in the last missions certainly are, they follow a certain flight pattern every time and are much harder to get hits on them at the beginning, then ease up. After you get a hit or two on one of em, they move through the base of the elevator to avoid your missiles, some dialogue happens and they come out of it, then they're easy to hit again and you can pretty much kill them both without issue.

@@EnigmaGameMaster the 2 drones are pretty much killable with 2/3 EMLs tho close range (depends on where you hit them), kill it fast enough too and you could save Wit I do agree those 2 had some manuverablity scripts (they slow down when releasing smaller drones, or a few minutes has passed), but dont have infinite health like Mister X

@@EnigmaGameMaster tbh theres a reckless way to kill those 2 drones, by facing their laser beams then spraying machine guns (or anything that is not a missile) I think those rest movement scripts are added for people who really cant hit those final drones (in lower difficulty atleast imo) I mean in ace difficulty it only happen once (the time when the drones are deploying smaller uavs)

What I did was loaded up an F22 with QAAM and buff the Sp with quicker turn and higher loadout amount. Like you said I just shoot some MSL first to kick start the script. Then, QAAM the way out :) It's a totally noob friendly strategy since buffed QAAM doesn't take much skills.

I never had a problem with this segment. It's fun and challenging. More challenging when you restrict your with MSLs. I feel like it's not a challenge when you use SP weapons against Sol squadron.
