NYs9thwonder its best to call your teammates name before you release the ball to warn him the ball is coming his way

@@HenrySaveAll I agree 100%. However often times I find that awareness is at its lowest in matches at the point of Goal Kicks and punts.

I am always concerned that my 14-year old is going to mess up his shoulder on cold days. Should I be? Did you have any shoulder injuries?
@GKGOLUREMI4 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any major shoulder injuries in my career. Just a pinched nerve here and there that would cause discomfort when I played but wasn't a threat of any long term repercussions. And throwing won't be the cause of the vast vast majority of shoulder injuries. They would most likely be caused by diving on your shoulder wrong due to improper diving technique. Or a powerful shot benching your shoulder back in a awkward position. But I wouldn't be concerned about him picking up a shoulder injury at 14. I can't think of a keeper that age that I know of that has picked up a bad shoulder injury.

This more valuable than all the sidevolley BS all over keeper pages. Perfect throw should get to your target on the second bounce. Another tip is that you also throw more from the side, you can put a spin to crear a defender and keep it in the runners path.
@connerroth34167 ай бұрын
Side volleys still have an essential role, but especially for younger keepers, throws are really underutilized. The issue isn't black or white, you just have to have both in your arsenal. Spin is very underutilized, but some of us play on trash fields where the bounce isn't consistent enough for that.

lol no. second bounce? unless they have time, the throw at a far distance needs to be perfectly placed at their feet for OPTIMUM efficiency. if im throwing it, it will be so they can control it the best way they decide. unless i decide where i see the best placement in front of them, im not giving them a bounce. waste of time with the bounce causing a slow down.

you’re probally rolling the ball of your fingers/finger tips, and although it’s a good way to add a little extra spin on the ball maybe only do it when it’s appropriate. perhaps try releasing it with a fuller hold in which it just comes out of your hand (like in the video)
