Great response .... I try to give as much love as I can in my busy schedule. So happy its helped so many goalkeepers around the world. We will be back filming new tutorials this week and next week. I’m thinking reflex saves , recovery saves or how to Play the sweeper keeper otherwise known here in London as the fly keeper. What do you guys want to see ??? ❤️❤️⚽️🧤

Takes a hell of a lot of energy to put your whole body's force into the kick, even more so if you're taking a lot of them. It's unbelievably easy to fuck up a kick when you're tired and even the slightest of mistakes can lead to a goal.

Great video. One thing that should be noted (if I'm interpreting the video correctly), is that you should change your approach when kicking shorter distances for training purposes only so you can master the technique. In a game, however, your approach should be the same (i.e. the 6 & 2) regardless of the distance so you are not scripting your kick, or at least the distance of it.

This coming summer I will be coaching a new young goal keeper. I'm a self taught keeper myself, so I have never had a goalie coach. Nor have I taught anyone before. My question to you is, do you have any good exercises/ stretches that will help prevent injury like the injury's I have suffered? Shoulder, knee, ankle?
@MikeD19825 жыл бұрын
Close to the same technique is used for kick-offs and field-goal kicking in American Football. There is a little bit of a crossover. I knew some goalkeepers who were also field-goal kickers here in the states during my youth years in the 90s. I was a kicker myself, but I was a field player instead of a goalkeeper in soccer/English football. If you train as a kicker in American Football during your youth years, and you develop well at it, then you have a good shot at becoming an American college football kicker. Training as a goalkeeper can help you get there because you can take that knowledge of goal kicks to kicking an American football.

Good video. Any tips or drill to teach keeping the foot low on the follow trough? My daughter's not a goalkeeper but a mid-fielder and is working on her ping. She is having trouble keeping follow through low as she is used to high follow through for shots. It seems the goal kick is similar, if not same as a ping. Forgive me if that's off base...not a coach, just a dad. :) thanks

Jack Hayes don’t be afraid of hard work mate ,,,find yourself a team and train , u can’t expect to just join a team and play straight away . Train regularly and challenge the 1st choice . Also learn from the 1st choice and develop then in time you will get your chance . Trust me after few sessions of hard work you will love it ,you will change physically , technically , psychologically and socially and you will become a goalkeeping athlete . If you don’t Believe in yourself how can you ask anyone else to believe in you Good luck
Im a beginner goal keeper Does anyone got any tips for me?

If there dribbling through the middle stay in the middle of the goal 🥅 if there dribbling on the left go next to the left post same with right and if there getting close and are past the defenders start approaching very slowly knees low and arms out wide and always be on your toes and don’t not expect them to shoot

Practice practice practice for goal kicks. Whenever you can. And for your diving, start working on technique where you dive forward instead of to the side of backwards. And also, your starting position shouldn’t always be on your line when diving
