I absolutely love flow rolling-it’s a fantastic way for Tori to focus on executing proper technique while giving Uke the chance to problem-solve and adapt. It’s a win-win for skill development on both sides!

I actually think I have the opposite problem. I’m constantly rolling playfully, trying new things, working defense, accepting bad positions. I feel like my jj is good I just have a hard time when it actually matters ie competing

Giancarlo and Jay Rods match at ADCC was not boring. I love JT but damn his perspective to sell a point sometimes kills me lmao

My concern is that if I go this light, I'm going to lose my fire. I'll end up losing competitions.

May be a controversial opinion but I feel at least in gi Awarding points to good defence would relieve that pressure to always go to your A game. If the match is locked it wouldn't be as bad to concede to a weaker position if you still gained points for doing so. I'm too new to know the specifics of how to make that relevant. It just seems a shame to not award surviving and good defence concedering that's the core of white belt is promoted as.
