Lmfao. As a westie owner and groomer, that has got to be one of THE WORST examples of a westie pattern I've ever seen. No blending, skirt waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too high, ears tipped WAY too much, top of head way too short and unbalanced with his beard. This is the type of groom I have clients asking me to fix! I guess this is the reason westie owners think no one knows how to groom them. 😆 Like, could you not?😂😂😂

This woman baths them after she shaved them. That's a little extreme bc the oils and dirt are going to clug up the clippers and not cut properly. IDC if her clippers are sharp she can keep the blades sharper if she is cutting clean hair. But I'm not a groomer. So. It be different if the dog was matted.

@@Amy-ms6wj I'm not judgemental at all.... I just know what should and shouldn't be done and A LOT OF WHAT SHE DOES GOES COMPLETELY AGAINST what is correct and/or appropriate. I have almost 17 years of experience working with dogs and from the way she handles them to the way she deals with owners and others in our profession is just plain wrong. People think because she talks her way through everything and films everything that she knows what she's doing and that's just not always accurate. She's a shaver, not a groomer. It doesn't matter whether she didn't intend to do a show groom or not, there are many flaws in everything she does and especially in the way she speaks about the industry and her peers within the industry.

As a professional groomer and salon owner for over thirty years, this makes me wonder, how is this person in business? There is such a thing as a breed standard, for all purebred dogs. Most of the dogs that come to a grooming salon are not show dogs, and are not getting show clips, but you still want to have the dog resemble the standard look for that breed. Shaving all dogs down with a #10 blade is not grooming! I would be ashamed to let this dog leave my salon looking like this.

That is one of the worst cuts I've ever seen lmaoooo. That poor dog! The very first time I ever groomed a schnauzer I knew to blend the lines. This looks horrendous and the owners shouldnt have to pay a dime 🤮. You have no business posting videos or grooming for that matter!

I can't , I just can't . I just cried , that beautiful coat , No sweetie . please , please take some continuing education classes . You have a passion but this was just sad to watch , And some unknowing or unsuspecting somebody paid for that , It looked like it had a nicely set and blended pattern when it came in . Please let someone help you that knows how to do it properly even for a pet , Yes house dog haircuts still should look Professionally done . There are so many things a good mentor could help you with . I know you mean well . PS the dog was short enough to start with a CLEAN Blown out coat . So much easier on the dog .

Okay sorry it was on speak text what I meant to say is on show dogs Westies would have the coarse hair plucked from the top coat to make the soft hair gone in the coarse hair come out. The whole cut its supposed to look natural natural to the point where it was hand plucked. Okay so when you use a blade we are basically using a blade instead of plucking so the whole thing should have been Blended in instead of looking like it's wearing a skirt this is so wrong on so many levels and I'm sorry that no one taught you how to groom a Westie or a Scottie or Schnauzer that you do not put a line around any of these animals it looks like a bedskirt on a mattress everything is supposed to flow. Sorry I had to be so blunt but been doing this 40 years I know what I'm talking about been doing show dogs this is not good

Rebecca Psencik in her defense, I don’t think she does show cuts at all and probably shouldn’t. I don’t handstrip either but I do carding and other techniques; I’ve shaved a lot of pet Westies and they are all universes better than this. This groom looks ridiculous

Sara Jackson I figured that. The top coat is what we in horse terms call Roached. The skirt has a sever line. I tend to blend mine in. I leave a loner top coat but know matter what I try I get blade lines. I seen some people use a comb then run a blade over that to blend. Any suggestions. Ps. It’s easy to tell a Westie owner😄

Maddie Brooks I have but still get blade lines. Dixie has a “butt roll” and I really have to manipulate her shin to blend. Any tips for blending. She’s right about Westies. My Dorkie doesn’t get blade lines. I might try the way she made the neck blend. I groom my own because the first time I took her to get groomed the messed her up bad. I’m very protective over her. But like they say. It’s a Westie thing 😁

@@westiewonder6601 what blade length do you use? Do you use guard combs? I will use thinning shears to blend harsh lines, depending on the length and area. Westies can be really hard to blend. The white coat shows every little line. It can sometimes be a real challenge but to make them look smooth but they are great dogs to work on. I love their personalities.
