Burakos with Folk Hero makes it so you draw cards when you cast any Party Member, so you get both ramp, card draw and some drain.

For the record, the way you play around Terramancer with fetchlands is to crack it when an opponent has already triggered the Terramancer that turn. It doesn't trigger once each turn for each opponent, like a Monologue Tax, but only once each turn across all players.

OMG, I love the card. But I can not believe Path to Exile (not the game, the card) has not been mentioned. Either the opponent refuses the tutor drawback (it says "may"), or you get a land too.

The answer for deep gnome is 1. It’s worth it if it gets you 1 land. If it gets you two or more it’s insane for only 2 mana.

I really disliked party, I thought it was clunky and anti-synergistic, but then I decided to make a historic brawl party deck in Arena because I got Tazri, and I found out it's really fun to build and feels good to play because you're playing an additional minigame and you're looking at the game in an entirely different way than you normally would.

Assuming the reminder text is accurate (and it doesn't have to be), some of your solutions won't work. Unearth automatically exiles the creature "...or if it leaves the battlefield". That... stigma doesn't go away at end of turn, just the first part that tries to exile it on schedule. That is, IF it even triggers. It doesn't just happen at the beginning of THIS end step; it happens at the beginning of THE NEXT end step, so if you skip over your end step without that trigger going on the stack, the creature is still waiting for the NEXT end step. I'm also fairly certain that flickering it won't work either since the Unearth trigger will see the creature leaving and exiles it with it's own ability, pre-empting your flicker effect. But don't quote me on that. Personal note: I saw this video like 12 hours ago and I really wish I had chimed in then, but I was watching on Roku and went to bed right after. Usually, I'm too late to comment early enough for my insight to matter.

Here's how Unearth works. You activate the Unearth ability which returns the creature to the battlefield under your control with Haste, a delayed triggered ability that activates at the next end step to exile it, and a replacement ability is set up for when it would be put anywhere but exile to exile it instead. The delayed triggered ability only gets put on the stack once, at the beginning of the next end step, and if you prevent that ability from resolving, such as by ending your turn with it on the stack, then it is done and never comes back to try again. If you skip your end step before it has a chance to be put on the stack (ending the turn during combat for example), then it will still be waiting for the next end step to be put on the stack, like you were describing. The replacement ability only lasts until the creature leaves the battlefield (where it becomes a new object), and will only apply if the creature isn't being placed into exile. Flickering exiles the creature, dodging the replacement effect while also making it a new creature that wasn't unearthed.

Unearth sees that an effect will cause that creature to leave the battlefield and exile it through its own effect. Your flicker will never have a chance to tack on the return clause. Unless the comprehensive rules state that exiling doesn't count, there's no reason to believe that it doesn't.

@@jdonvance If you want an example explicitly stating that, then look at the Gatherer page for the card Archfiend of Sorrows from Modern Horizons 2. It says: "If a creature returned to the battlefield by the unearth ability would leave it for any reason, it's exiled instead-unless the spell or ability that's causing the creature to leave the battlefield is actually trying to exile it. In that case, the spell or ability succeeds at exiling the creature. If the spell or ability later returns the creature card to the battlefield (as Ephemerate might, for example), the creature card will return as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The unearth effect will no longer apply to it." This is a well known behavior, and works because the replacement effect doesn't apply if it is already getting exiled. Relevant words bolded. 702.84a Unearth is an activated ability that functions while the card with unearth is in a graveyard. “Unearth [cost]” means “[Cost]: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it *anywhere* *else* . Activate only as a sorcery.” Edit: couldn't get bold to work right at first, and accidentally put Shadows instead of Sorrows.

the floor on this is actually the crack their fetch, you play your terramancer in response, they let it resolve but kill it before letting their fetch trigger resolve. In that case, you've traded a 2-drop for an instant speed removal spell - not a terrible outcome.

Burakos would be good with red. Extra combats. Say aggravated assault... He gives u 4 of the Mana needed to activate it... And with any other land creature you get info free combat and main phases... Not to mention random value other creatures you control may generate.

My question about "Stick Together" is does it let them save anything if they lack a full party? The way I read this is it only lets you save 1 of each if you have all 4 creature types (A full party). So a random wizard, rogue, cleric, or warrior would still die would they not?

I don't think so, as you also do not need a full party for other effects that care about party. Like the ones "for each creature in your party" will also work if your party only consists of a single creature.

I feel like Burakos is way better than Nalia for commander even tho I LOVE Nalia. Burakos giving treasures, all party types and draw... Kind of insane. Not to mention the free drain and the fact that you don't need a full party to get treasures. Phasing an unearthed creature will save it from the delayed triggered ability to be exiled, but it will still have the issue of being exiled when placed anywhere but exile. Edit: small clarification, the replacement ability doesn't care about phasing out itself, the creature will phase out and phase in just fine, but if it dies later it will be exiled instead of being put into the graveyard.

We need more DGT level anti-ramp. We need ways to punish players for abusing pregame knowledge. People are like: land destruction is a taboo so I'll just use that pregame knowledge to abusively ramp for the first 1-4 turns and then drop cards like gaia's cradle and field of the dead. Nobody can stop me. People are like: ban all graveyard hate or my deck just literally cant do anything, at all, i can't even shuffle it. People are like: i have no slots left in my deck after jamming all the most expensive staples and haymakers, my deck wins on sheer card quality and hopefully going infinite, its a 7.

Are these good reprints though? Skullclamp's an (U); great.... but it seems disingenuous to pat them on the back for doing their job. Mutavault is surprising and great; but the rest are Commander/Limited release reprints that aren't staples and aren't particularly good. SNC came with 1 decent land reprint per deck; these come with utter garbage in the way of fixing.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m just not a fan of party. It still feels like way too much of an extremely gimmicky mechanic that was made more for limited rather than anything but the most jank of jank decks. Tribal decks are already notorious for treading the line of Jank and legitimate and a tribal deck revolving around 4 creature types is truly madness and its not like the payoffs are jaw dropping and makes the endeavour worth it and it’s more about the appeal of the challenge of playing the hardest mode of tribal decks that aren’t based on tribes that are just too small/unable to make up a 100 card deck.
