Great info that was very much needed - My son was having problems getting predator boots to fit - 19.1 we're too tight around the sock ?? - ( had no problem up to now ! ) having wide feet at 13 yrs old and was proving upsetting and annoying for him. Thank you for your comments regarding sizing. I found that going down half a size was correct on all the previous futures as well. No different here it seems

No worries, I've stuck to my regular size UK 8 in previous models of the future particularly in the 4.1 and 19.1 however I was always considering going down half a size. With these I think absolutley no question everyone should go down half a size. For me these are the best futures so far, so I hope you enjoy them if you're grabbing a pair. I think between the king platinum these and the puma one they potentially have a better 3 boot line up than Adidas or Nike could pull off. Venom, Mercurial, Vision X, Copa, Predator/Nemeziz This would rival either of those 2 line ups.

Have had both the puma king and ONE 5.1 in hand and on foot recently and was very surprised at comfort out of the box. Puma king has been a winner for them I think and yes the other company's better stand up and deliver the goods on there new boots.😁👍

@@dwaynekaye2000 it's really nice to.see so many great boots from so many brands, okay so Nike and Adidas have good boots we know that, Puma now have 3 genuine contenders, New Balance have one in the Tekela and a pretty good Furon, Lotto have 3 fantastic boots, The Umbro Accuro is worth considering, Mizuno obviously have 2 exceptional lines, there is so much choice from so many great boots.

For me that's what will be on my radar until i decide fully wich direction to go. but! I do need 2 pairs of boots you know these days cos the grounds are pretty harsh on them😉😉that's what I say to the partner anyway😂😂😂🙌👌⚽️.

Got to be honest, that's a great review even with the new boot goggles on 😉 (if I was puma I'd sign you up), really like these, but I would have say, these would a nightmare to get clean if you wore them on a muddy pitch, strange how the sole plate is the same on all the futures but if its not broke don't try and fix it? , perhaps a reason for putting these boots out now is the didn't think they made a good job of the 4.1 and knew they could produce a better boot(cmon puma give us a string bag at least), I'm going to take your advice and wait till they come down in the sales, keep up the good work

Haha, thank you for the kind words, sometimes the new boot goggles go on extra with boot lines that I like and boots that suit me personally 😂😂, I always try and keep it as objective as possible though. Then get excited at the end haha. Totally agree about cleaning, if you've ever tried to clean a Nike flyknit collar I think it will be like that. Yeah I actually edited out a comment about 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' regarding the sole plate (just for time purposes, if I didn't take stuff out every review would be half an hour haha) I get that theory but I feel like there is room for improvement, maybe changing the material balance to save weight, but as you say, cost saving is probably pretty Paramount here. But with that cost saving you would think we could get a string bag right! Yeah great boots but they will be better in the sales haha.

Hi mate, great review, very thorough. Just 2 quick question about the other models, what are the differences with the future 5.2 and 5.3 compared to the 5.1? Also for someone who mainly plays on 3g pitches would you recommend the MG sole over the FG/AG one?

Starting with the soleplate question if you're going to play exclusively on AG get the MG, if you are going to play on a mix the FG is probably better, the issue with the MG is that it's not good on grass, but I do reccomend it over the FG for those AG pitches. The simple difference to the 5.2 is the upper, the 5.1 is full evoknit the 5.2 is only partial with the Netfit system and a synthetic material for the rest. The 5.3 is fully synthetic and I would avoid it. Honetstly with the prices of the 5.1 at under €100 right now I would be looking at picking up the 5.1 it's far superior to both takedowns

Their online size chart isn't accurate to the actual length of the boots. I would advise checking out a size chart on unisportstore.com but make sure it's a size chart that has been measured by reading the top of the size chart. My advice is 100% half a size down though.

Yeah they fit me perfectly half a size down. And I prefer the lows just for looks, there's no real difference between the 2 boots otherwise.

Nice review! Saw you got these 5.1’s a half size down, 7.5 UK, but you went with your normal size, 8 UK, in the 19.1’s and 4.1’s. Is that because of the length, or mostly because of the width? Keep the reviews coming!

It's the length, the width hasn't been an issue at all. The 19.1 and 4.1 the length is better in my regular UK 8, these I 100% needed to go down half a size. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi I really like the new Future and I’m looking for a new pair of indoor boots as I play futsal. However the indoor versions for these are only available in the Future 5.3 and not the 5.1. What do you think about the knock down 5.3 upper and would you recommend them?

The 5.3 is a very different boot, even a totally different upper. For a boot at the price point it's not terrible but I would say there are better options out there. For indoor I always reccomend a specific indoor model not just a boot that has had the indoor sole added to it. The react gato I will have on the channel soon is probably my favourite indoor right now.

Hi Boot Wizard, this material (the Evoknit supposedly) is bad in meteorological conditions such as the field being wet due to humidity, having rained? I play in Portugal, in good synthetic fields. I didn't really understand if it is the Evoknit that covers the entire boot or just the collar that holds the foot that are going to have less durability hover the time. Is there any feedback from previous puma with this material in terms of durability exposed to rain, moisture etc? Thank you and continued excellent work

While evoknit is a material we have seen before we have never really seen it in this form so you can only really make the judgement based on the future 5.1. I think i mention the potentially negative affects of adverse weather in the review. But basically it's not just the collar, any area that isn't coated with the Grip Control Pro element is exposed evoknit and is potentially going to be affected by the weather. I've not had any major.probkens yet but I imagine wet muddy fields week in and week out won't help.

@@BootWizard as you should know here the weather in Portugal is quite good only in winter when it rains and the field gets wetter so i don't think i should play week in week in rain. I think the case of England there is much worse and the material wears out much more correctly? Playing 1 day on wet terrain and for example after 1 month or more that I play like this again, do you think it is an excellent option for the elite range (5.1)? Thanks for your message and help

I don't think it's going to slide around because of the width, not a problem I would be worried about but it certaintly won't give you that tight wrap sensation you get from your vapor XIs. I strongly suggest giving them a try, i think you might be surprised.

More in-between, it's not thin and barefoot but it's also not heavily padded, but there is certainly a bit of a padded sensation, it's a nice balance. Elegant I think was the word I used in the video. Can't believe I didn't notice it looks like Sully before now! That would have been an amazing intro 😂😂

I want to buy these boots but not sure whether to go for the FG/AG or the MG boots on the Puma UK website. I almost always play on AG and have always played with Nike AG boots as you can customise them on Nike's website however I just wanted your expert opinion of whether I should just get the FG/AG or is the MG better suited to what I would use them for? Also since the price is the same on both versions (£180) does that mean apart from the sole plate the rest of the boot is exactly the same? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

To start with, thanks for checking out the video. Secondly, yes both boots will have an identical upper and the only difference will be the sole plate. Finally, it really depends on what you're looking for, the MG option is very good if you only play on AG, I don't think the Puma MG is a viable option for FG pitches, there is simply not enough traction, obviously if it's very rarely then it would be okay. The MG would be a great option if you basically only play on AG and if you have any injury concerns, or issues with stud pressure, shin splints anything like that. If you play on a very nice AG surface and you also play on FG sometimes then I would just get the FG/AG plate. It's very good, it is just a little more suited to FG than AG.

Hello James i don’t know if you will respond but I am looking to upgrading from the 4.1 to the 5.1 I’m just concerned about the size I wear a size 8 US. in the future 4.1 I wear a size 8.5 US because I have semi wide feet and I am still growing but I think my feet finally stopped growing .the mid foot is perfect but the toe area is a bit loose and id say that I have about a 1cm space from my big toe to the end of the boot I am debating whether or not buying the future 5.1’s in a size 8 US what do you think?

1cm is approximately 1 size and the future 5.1 is slightly longer than the 4.1 so you might be able to get away with going down half a size.

I see where you're coming from, that used to be all I wore, and then somehow started doing this and started wearing insane boots 😂😂. It's more the feeling of the boot that suits me than the colour way. I do really like the look of the CC in these though. Falke grip socks I like, but they're not my favourite, they're the most 'grippy' of any grip socks I've tried but I'm not a huge fan of the material they're made from, just feels very nylon and not as comfortable as I would like, but I still like them and clearly stil wear them.

The only difficulty is grip socks are expensive and I can get Nike grip socks which are probably my favourite at this point, on sale all the time 😂😂. Yeah even when I played as a kid there weren't that many crazy boot colours around maybe the odd white pair or something my diadora brasils could have been considered crazy with their big neon logo on the side haha.

It should last a season, but the upper is totally exposed, it doesn't exactly wear off but it's very hard to keep clean and dry.

I always tell you the sizing information in the video. With these it's as I say in the video go down half a size. However my other piece of advice would be don't make boots fit using a double sock there is always an option to go down half a size. Boots should be as tight as they can be without being uncomfortable. So my advice is still the same, go down half a size from your regular size.
