I actually used some parts from a 6th gen v6 Accord sedan like the negative cable and the battery tray from the same car. However I didn't get the group 35 and/or 24f battery because I upgraded my 7th gen Accord battery to an AGM 51R battery. However I did like the split negative cable and battery tray from the v6 Accords from the 6th generation.

I didn't change a new battery holder. I put the group 35 in the same tray the honda accord 2010 v4 came with. the group 35 battery does fit in the original group 51 oem battery tray. Mines fit. Why do you need to do all that for?
@NoPointOfThis1234 жыл бұрын
On the 7th gens we have to change the tray out, as well as the tie down or else it won't fit. But it's cheap enough anyways and you could find them at junkyards if you wanted to.
@JohnT20884 жыл бұрын
@@NoPointOfThis123 i don’t know what generation is my accord but its a 2010 accord. The OEM battery tray fits the group 35 battery. Well not fully flush and might be sitting on the inside outer lip of the battery tray but it been years and years no problem. I did use a universal tie down and did not reuse the battery cover cause that would only fit the group 51R. battery. Maybe if i bought the v6 battery tray then it would be properly fully flush.

I have a 2006 2.4L 4 cylinder Honda Element. I have some physical disability so I had my garage put in a new battery this winter for me, and they put in a new group 51R Interstate 500cca battery. I live in a 🥶 colder Midwest climate and my Honda sits outside because I have no garage. Some of the time it had a struggle turning over when it was extremely cold, but it always started. I've called multiple auto repair shops including the shop I trust and I have used for years and not one of them will put in any battery other than the 51R because that's what the vehicle calls for, and if something goes wrong using the group 35, they don't want to be responsible. So what can go wrong?
@NoPointOfThis123 Жыл бұрын
I had this type of battery in both of my previous accords for several years and nothing went wrong, as long as they replace the battery like normal and make sure not to accidentally touch the battery terminals with something metal. But in terms of the actual battery inside the car, the voltage is still the same so it won't affect any of the car systems.

Yo, I got a question for you since your mileage and mine are about the same and we have the same car. I'm almost touching 300,000 as well. What should I do or what can I do if someday in the far future I reach the maximum mileage and still wanna keep the car? Do I get a new engine, a new transmission or something? Is there a way to reset the number of miles is what I'm saying basically

What exact air intake do you have ? Also how has it held up over time ?
@NoPointOfThis1233 жыл бұрын
I had the AEM short ram intake. This was for only for Accords without the MAF sensor. I had it for about 2 years and it held up perfectly, never had any fitment issues and it sounded great too. Only got rid of it because I got a different Accord with the MAF sensor so it didn't fit.

I did the same modification to my 2003 Accord. I initially used an optima group 35, which got me about two and a half years of battery life instead of the 51R only getting me about one year battery life. I've since switched to an Odyssey group 35 AGM battery, and I hope that I continue to get the same level of cranking performance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYjHZKxqpZhgacU I made a review of my experience with the group 35 battery, and suffice to say it's been entirely positive. And when it's warm out the car turns over extremely quickly. I almost feel sorry for the starter.

Car batteries are usually not even covered under warranty to begin with as far as I know. It's just a maintenance expense so it's pretty much the same as replacing wiper blades.
