Being a wrestling fan, I was overall very happy with The Iron Claw, especially how the British actor who portrayed David Von Erich, sounded and looked just like him. It was eerie. I went to their graves in Texas, and growing up watching them wrestle, and die, was heavy-hearted for sure. For years I told my friends their story would make a great Hollywood film. I'm glad it was.

Happy new year Sir! Always fun to see your best/worst lists; though your long 'worst-of' discussions are a favorite, I understand that events can intervene. Haven't quite decided on my own #1 pick, but am leaning towards yours. I'm a big Payne fan and this could be his best movie since Sideways. Interesting to see a big-budget, somewhat-mainstream release take the booby prize; it's been a long time since that's happened (since the last Die Hard film, to be exact). "Killers of the Flower Moon" was personally my favorite film of the year. I'm a big Scorsese fan, and was interested in the story all the way thru. "Iron Claw" was very gripping. Good list, Brad!

Chavo Guerrero Jr, the wrestler who worked with the cast of the Iron Claw for the wrestling scenes, said Zac Effron really gave it his all and did the wrestling spots well. This is definitely my favorite movie of the year as I do know the story of the Von Erich family and the movie covers a good majority of the life and trials.

Sisu means guts and it was a fantastic action. It was a movie you could simply turn off your brain and enjoy a movie with minimal plot. The actor said he would be willing to make a sequel it was also shocking because he is in his early to mid 60s

I would have to say Talk To Me and Meet Cute surprised me the most last year. For talk to me, I thought I was walking into another horror movie to put on on the background and for meet cute, I thought it was gonna be a silly rom-com. Both had a lot more depth and entertainment value than I expected.

I honestly would have done Sisu over mission impossible. The action was great but they did quite a bit of paint by numbers. I knew way in advance that **small spoiler alert** someone specific was going to die. Plus that train scene at the end? What a rip off of uncharted 2.

apparently for 2023 i only saw 3 films in total. renfield, thanksgiving, and the strays. well worst easily went to the strays, and honestly forgot i even watched it till i looked up my letterbox account. positive was i watched it for free at my gym in the cinema room while working out. as for the other 2 well i loved the heck out of renfield, but heck if i remember a thing about it outside hammy nick cage. thanksgiving was a fun movie with some innovative deaths, but from when the killer gets revealed and his motive *seriously i was rolling my eyes on the reveal* to the end it just became so cheesy. still want to see the sequel to see if old Eli can one up himself.

Yeah, I started getting vague Force Tremors of Knights of the Zodiac like I did with Power Rangers a few years ago, but cranked up. Like the Power Rangers movie was 'A presence I haven't felt since...' vs Knights being 'Billions of voices crying out at once...' I wonder, do the Satanists in the movie realize that, really, in order to have it be the ULTIMATE sacrifice, you'd have to raise Jesus to be good and holy? My favs this year (no particular order): Sisu Suzume Spiderverse Poor Things TMNT Mutant Mayhem The Holdovers Haunting in Venice Barbie Dungeons & Dragons Violent Night I really wanted to see Bottoms but missed it in theaters :( The worst movies I saw in theaters in 23 would be Magic Mike, The Little Mermaid, and Big Fat Greek 3, though to be fair I had no interest in seeing any of them to begin with but was dragged to see them by other people.

The Devil Conspiracy almost feels like it took some ideas from the final evil plot of the villain in a series that had at least 2 anime seasons, Qwaser of Stigmata. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ They want to, as I recall, take what is a copy of Jesus' soul that's in an artifact and put it into a clone they'll make and then, because Jesus' powers are essentially global scale manipulation of Iron, enhanced by a substance called Soma that is produced by women partnered with the Qwasers (manipulators of elements like Iron on the periodic table), who, no joke, drink it from their breasts like Jesus nursed on Mary as a baby. And the ultimate goal is to cause a polar shift and basically kill everyone on the planet

I actually saw three movies this year i thought were WORSE than Knights of the Zodiac, although I'm pretty sure you'll disagree with my pick for the worst. Yes, I did see KotZ, and the effects are so bad I honestly thought it was animated The Spirits Within style until I got home. Just this awful CG filter over everything. I just honestly was more pissed off by the following three. #3. Zombie Town Based on an RL Stine book, a plot point involves the lead being afraid to pee outside, and not because of the zombies. Has both Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd, with a post credit bit where Dan says a quick thanks to the crew and just hightails it off set leaving Chevy just looking confused. 2. Meg 2: The Trench Shocked this wasn't on your list. Completely unbelievable, especially so shortly after Titan. The first was decent, but this was just awful and contrived. 1. 65 They not only made Kylo Ren fighting dinosaurs boring, but somehow made a worse version of After Earth by removing the colour and unintentional humour. What was the point of setting this in our past on Earth when it had absolutely no impact on the plot?
