And then there is Linux mobile OS for those of us who dislike both Android and iPhones. But, Linux mobile OS is not for many, not even for most people. But that's okay. I don't need it to be for everyone. But for those who do want a third choice and are willing to take the plunge Linux has its own set of pros...and cons.

i have a mac and ipad but really wanted to try samsung phone. absolutely loved using it but missed the integration so much. it sucks when your phone doesn't communicate with any of your other devices. i'm now back to iphone lol.

I’ve just switched to iOS too after years using Android and I completely agree with you. Widgets could be more interactive and as someone who has some Google Home devices I feel it takes a little more effort to use them.

I've jst completely switched from the apple ecoystem and joined the Samsung ecosystem , I'm using the galaxy S21 ultra , galaxy tab s7+, galaxy book ion, galaxy watch 4 and galaxy buds live and I have to say convenience on Galaxy devices across the Galaxy ecosystem is almost on par with my time in the apple ecosystem and I don't see myself switching back anytime soon as of now , the biggest downside was the cost 😂, about 3.2k which is abt the same if I wanna remain in the apple ecosystem

It's gonna be quite the jump plus the screen not being lcd on the s21 is going to help the battery even more, tho u r probably gonna need quite a bit of time tinkering with the settings and in general the freedom of android

I am currently using a Note 20U and I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. I switch between the two quite often. What I love about Samsung is the customizations. I love that Samsung keeps pushing the envelop on technology. My reason for Apple is the fact that everything works, syncs together and timely updates. Something Samsung is getting better at. Either eco system is great it all depends on the user.

I've been a long time apple user, from an iphone 3GS. I used an Android phone for a little while after the iphone 4s. The galaxy series to be specific. Then I changed back to apple until recently. Ever since the pixel 6 came out I've been excited to try and switch to it. And I did! Been using the pixel for 2 weeks now and honestly I am quite surprised as I thought I'm going to struggle to try to get used to the OS. Been enjoying the pixel so far. 😌😌

One thing that bugs me the most is that the iPhone keyboard doesn't show the number row or alternative character (like long-press on a key to input another character) but I have to click the bottom left button every single time to access those. In my case of use, I need to juggle between letters and digits a lot so this is truly an inconvenience. Also, the default calculator app on Samsung is far more superior with history and built-in unit converter.

One feature that most of the time is overlooked in iOS is the build-in 2fa (2 factor authentication) generator. Once setup it will also be available on your Mac. And you don’t have to put the code in manually.

I've been primarily an Android user but have occasionally used iPhones. I have a pixel 4a 5g and have been eyeing the iPhone 13, I think I'm getting a bit tired of all the different types of phones, and i already have a MacBook, iPad, and airpods so I feel an iPhone would work much better with them than my pixel. It's a good phone but sometimes there's glitches and crashes, and I keep on wondering how polished iOS is. Also I'm very aesthetic oriented and can't deny how good the pink iPhone looks, and there's so many cute accessories for them too! If I get an iPhone I'll definitely miss the customization, I love changing icon packs and the sizes and everything, but I don't think it would be a huge deal for me. Just hoping it becomes easier in the future lol. Thanks for the video! It's very helpful for people on the fence like me lol

It was really interesting hearing your perspective after being predominantly an android user. I had gotten the s10+ for a few months but I just missed the iPhone after about half a year. I do really miss KZbin pip; I know there was an announcement a while ago that it was coming to iOS users in America. I think it is still only for subscribers of KZbin premium.

i once switched to iOS from my Samsung note 9 , worst mistake ever. having to repeatedly reach for the top left or top right of the phone, slow lightning port, cant download files and videos easily, notifications were messy, no always on display, no dual sim.. list is endless. i find it strange when people try to justify all these just by saying the iPhone just "works" , even the network and data speeds are low on the iPhone . well to each his own. For me its Android on samsung S and note series which is the total package.

Half of the things you mentioned don't make sense. To go back, you just swipe anywhere from the left (top to bottom). What do you mean you can't download files easily? What type of files? What do you mean notificatyions are messy? I don't get it. Why would network speeds be slower on an iPhone? I do like the idea of reverse wireless charging and an always on display, but that's not on every single android phone.

@@Jonny-317 i am a user of both iPhone 13 pro max and s21 ultra. I think what he was commenting on, like in her video swiping to go back is much more seamless on the galaxy device can be done anywhere and with ios it cannot some pages require you to hit the back tab located at the top or bottom depending on how the page was designed and you swipe from left to right to back which isn’t convenient for right users and not exactly seamless. He is also talking about the left and right top of the screen which is how you access notifications or the tool tab. On android it’s a little easier because you can just swipe down once or twice depending on how you like it and brings the tools and notifications down to you making one handed use far more easy to use. I’ve noticed for files and downloads it’s hit or miss for both devices but if you are pairing with windows I feel that Samsung and Microsoft work a little more seamless. As far as signal I don’t know maybe his phones antennas aren’t good but I can’t tell. The only thing I feel is better when it comes to signal is my s21 ultra for some reason it has much better Wi-Fi signal than my iPhone 13 pro max. Maybe it’s the way the Wi-Fi cards were designed. All in all both are great devices. I like my iPhone as my work phone and my galaxy as my personal phone. Both great choices and really can do most of the same things with ease.

Great video Ella! I tried to switch to an iPhone and loved it, but can't seem to get used to iPhones gallery app and files app, compared to Androids. Android just makes it very easy to find everything by making separate folders for everything.

The real clincher for me, after literally decades of Android use, was the glitchiness of apps and occasional freezing. Because Android developers have to take into account an huge number of handsets and hardware configurations, the best you’ll ever get from Android is “good enough” where Apple iOS is one ecosystem where every app is designed and optimized for it and its devices. If an app doesn’t work or causes my device issues, what’s the point of all that customization?

Do you miss anything with android? I'm using an s22 ultra, but this new controversy of samsung batteries expanding is incredibly worrying. Iphone really seems to be the only other choice. I've enjoyed the large squared off screen, s pen and freedom on android, but much less am I doing those android power user things anymore. How much more snappy and fluid feeling is ios? I suppose I should just go to a store and check it out. I just don't see any premium android options with the stuff I prefer from Samsung. So if I switch I feel like I might as well just go with iphone?? Thoughts?? Good animations and fluidity is something I value. Maybe that can make up for the notch and rounded off corners.

I have been switching back and forth from iOS and Android but ended up with iOS for consistency and tired of customising my phone after a while. But I do see the benefit of Android OS (unless you are fully integrated to Apple Ecosystem).

There's some small but important things I found when switching to iPhone from my galaxy. For one, the data speeds are better on the iPhone. Samsung has similar features that are supposed to work like air drop for example that don't work as well as how Apple does it. The battery life on iPhone is so much better its actually disturbing.

With having had a s21 ultra , I miss being able to customize everything but I love that I don’t have to worry about constantly having a charger on me!! With my i13 pro max , I love the quality of my photos, no blurriness ! I also love that it barely looses battery life. I do wish that there was a bit more customization but overall I’m very happy with the switch 😊

Google Assistant is much better than Siri and I use it on the Google Nest Hub and I have also installed the Google Assistant app on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. On Google Assistant, I really enjoy the speed of responses and the ability to set multiple timers that cab is named and unnamed. For example, I can say, "Hey Google, set a timer called cook for 15 minutes". However, I can set at most one timer using Siri. I agree with you 100% that widgets on iPhone are absolutely useless because they replaced something that was much more dynamic in nature. A widget is equivalent to clicking an app's icon. I had my eyes on Iphone 12 for a while the moment it came out because the design really made me want to try out Iphone because i’ve been using android phones for well over 10 years then when the iphone 13 came out i finally decided to go for it, switched from galaxy S10+ to Iphone 13 pro max, about 4 months in and i can say i really loved it, aside from not being able to download music for free and listen to it offline or download modded apk files my experience with ios has honestly been fantastic, also realised there’s no chat head bubble for messenger on ios which was something i pretty much use 24/7 but i can cope with it

Why doesn't anyone ever mention the junky keyboard? No number row and hitting the shift key just to get to the punctuation keys is such a pain! Another one of the features that I'll miss most is continuous screen capture. Capturing a whole text conversation in just 1 screenshot is boss. Also, what app(s) did you use to make the switch? Did your messages come over to the new phone?

I was an iPhone user from the OG iPhone to the iPhone 4, but I switched over to Android with Google's Galaxy Nexus by Samsung. I've mostly stuck with Google's Nexus and Pixel phones (trying out the HTC One series and a couple OnePlus phones), but last year I went with my first fully Samsung phone, the S21 Ultra. I don't know if I'd ever be able to go back to the iPhone. I switched over to Windows a few years after switching to Android, and I don't have any personal Apple products to pull my into the ecosystem. In fact, Windows plays very nice with Samsung, providing some of the same features you mentioned were benefits of the Apple ecosystem. All in all, I think I'm likely an Android user for the foreseeable future.

Hi Ella! Agree with you regarding the navigation and everything. I previously used S20 FE and switched to iphone 12 pro just this year (I know its late). My conclusion is, except the video camera quality and airdrop of iPhone, S20FE gives totally better user interface ans experience! I kinda regret switching to iPhone :,)

I made the move to iPhone 13 Pro from OnePlus 7 Pro. My first day with the iPhone I was thinking oh no I a made a huge mistake, but once I got over the shortcomings of iOS, I have been tremendously happy with this phone. I thought the notch would be my biggest annoyance, coming from OnePlus Pro 7, but surprisingly it hasn't bothered me due to that screen real estate note being super important for the OS. The biggest negatives for me are how iOS does notifications and icon arrangement. The biggest pros have been the superior RAM management on iOS and the strong battery life.

@@raeclack3068 It was really just a week or two. Don't get me wrong, I still have a bucket of nitpicks, but I've come to respect the predictable reliability of iOS. And the hardware performs so well, especially the battery life. If you are lukewarm on the Android choices (like I was), the 13 Pro or Pro Max is probably as good a time as ever to jump in. It seems like it should be pretty easy to not get too locked into the ecosystem, so I can jump back to Android at any point.

I agree! Lifelong Android user here, using OnePlus 6, Pixel 4a5g, and OnePlus 9. I just switched to an iPhone 13 Pro and it took me two weeks to get used to it. I really like the speed, battery life, and smaller size. My Androids were nice but I have yet to experience the screen freeze of Android. The battery life has been a day and a half of calls, texts, news sites, and some KZbin.

You have to realise S21 have received countless amount of firmware updates ever since its launch, and vast majority of its bugs and glitches have been polished over time although I'd say that they still don't run as stable as it should.. at least on my S21 Ultra. Most of the bugs and glitches you experienced with Pixel 6 models are mostly to do with the new Android 12 as this iteration is one of the biggest change and overhaul coming from Android 11, Also Android 12 along with Pixel series (especially the Pixel 6 series) have not even had a proper firmware update yet since release. Just a November security update which was very minor. That's why the upcoming December security update will have over whopping 100 different optimizations and bug fixes to both Android 12 and Pixel 6 models such as thermal battery improvements, camera stability and performance improvements, various of sensor improvements along with fingerprint and so many more to list. If you still have your Pixel 6, try and wait until the 13th Dec as that's when the update will rollout on your Pixel 6. I would say this massive update will put Pixel 6s where it needs to stand within the competition. I am noticing tons of improvements and refinements to optimization on my Pixel 5 already as the older Pixel models received it yesterday, a week earlier than Pixel 6s.

@@androguyy That's not the case unfortunately. Previous Pixels were notorious for having a ton of hardware and software issues, my Pixel 4 is still buggy, the list of Pixel 6 issues are really long. Very unfortunate.

Good morning just now seeing this a little late to the party. As a user of both, I can say you did a very good well thought out mature video for both devices. I don’t think one is better than the other it’s really up to personal preference. Considering the galaxy s21 is almost a year old and the 13 is new released I believe the gap will be even closer when the s22 ultra comes out. I have the 13 pro max and it’s an amazing device but I do miss a lot of the convenience tools and gestures , like close all apps, swipe down for app drawer and notifications, aod and usb c charging as I only use wireless at night anyway. Great video as always and keep up the great work. I hope that you can do a video comparison of the iPad vs the tab s8 ultra when it releases first quarter next year.

I’ve been a Apple purist (lol) since the 3G and my favorite was the 5 (still have) and least favorite the XR. I currently have the 12 Mini (no longer use) and the 13. Your video on it was great, I choose it over the Pro. Because of the weight, I always take my 13 trail running with me. I love iOS music plus I have a Mac book Pro and an iPad Air. Going from iOS to Android was strange at times, but I like both. I have two phone lines and my the Pixel 6 is my main phone (I have no more issues since the Feb update). I’ll probably order the S22 Plus after seeing your review. And trade in my Pixel 4a which I kept. Your videos are very good, concise and well put together. Thank you.

Thanks for your review. I cannot agree more with you on this. I was an iphone user since 6 came out and last year switched to Samsung Galaxy S20+ and I loved it. My last samsung was the S3 so you can imagine the difference I felt. Last month I switched back to iphone 13 (I'm still debating whether I should have bought the pro) and while I love how easy things get synced with my macbook and other apple devices, I'm still not ready to let my S20+ go. There are some apps that surprisingly work better on my samsung than on the iphone and the customization, gestures, gallery, etc. I think works better in the samsung. I miss having a separate folder for the camera roll or maybe is that I have not found how to have it on ios by default? I imported around 8K of photos that i had neatly organized in my samsung, but in the iphone all of them are in their folder and on recents! where my camera roll is as well so I'm very frustrated..... Anyways, I'm still not sure if I'll keep the iphone, I love it but I miss the other features my samsung has. At the end of the day I think I'll try to keep both.

Honestly as someone who always switched back and forth, I just think iPhones are consistent at hitting every spot a phone should be good at. Android phones are amazing but there is always like one thing each Android phone just can’t nail. Oneplus - camera/video quality, Samsung - battery life (under my experience) Pixel - I don’t like Google UI, I prefer One UI or OxygenOS.

Currently I’m using iPhone 11 Pro but soon I’m gonna make a switch but I’m so much confused between two devices, that is S22 Ultra and iphone 14 PM. I like how customisable and fun to use android is and also Samsung flagship devices looks so beautiful but on the other hand iOS is just more polished and it works much better in terms of optimisations and software updates. Honestly I’m more interested in S22 Ultra but according to the leaks iPhone 14 series will come with a whole new design and much more powerful hardware, it tough to choose one.

Hello Ella! Another nice video. I've always been an Android user. I had the first iPhone SE a year ago, which was/is really nice in size. I like the look of the new iPhones much better than the Android devices, but I'm not willing to spend 800-1000 EUR on a smartphone. That's why I'm sticking with Android. I currently have a Samsung A52s 5G and think it's great - just a bit too big. I hope that over the years smaller models will be offered again. I also love designing my home screen the way I want, testing launchers and the more open system in general. no hate! iPhone is just not in my price range and unfortunately not as easy to customize as Android.

I switched to iPhone about 4 years ago and the biggest thing I miss from my old galaxy phone is the little LED light that shows missed texts, calls etc. I also hate that I can’t buy kindle books on the app and have to open Amazon to do it.

Going from Android 12 on the pixel 5 to a temporary iPhone that was lent to me until I can fix my main phone has been a difficult adjustment! I'm not a big fan of the lack of aesthetic customization on iPhones and how the software feels a little slow and clunky with navigation, but overall my impression of the iPhone is that it's just kind of doing what it needs to do and not offering much more outside that essential experience

Moved over to a iPhone 11 a year and a half ago and decided i'm most likely going to be moving onto a Galaxy Z Flip 3 after it. I've liked the 11 but that Z Flip 3 has just intrigued me so much and i'm also keen to see what the S22 is like. Most people told me when I got my 11 that once you get an iPhone you'll never go back, and I still don't find this true, both are good.

For me it was true. I wanted to give Apple a try for a year (11 pro max), then go back to Samsung. I got the Samsung Note 10+ and returned it after a week. I realized that I preferred to be treated as a customer rather than an admin. The things I thought I loved about android- I really didn’t care for anymore. I just want a clean, reliable, and secure experience. I didn’t need the bells and whistles that used to impress me. I do miss some features like the pen with the note, and the free picture in picture with KZbin. But I can live without those. Airdrop, iMessage, Find My, and battery life make up for it.

@@Mimiscellaneous I decided to get a S22 Ultra just less than 2 months ago instead of the Z flip because they were doing such a good promo and trade in for my broken note 9, I've been enjoying it so far quite a bit especially since it's now a Snapdragon unit instead of an Exynos. I miss some things but overall I don't feel much regret of losing those features, probably because I used iMessage maybe twice in the year and a half I had the phone, and my airdrop was barely used too and 50% of the time it never actually work for me. So overall I'm quite happy with it but I still don't regret owning the iPhone 11, I've somewhat come to like both I guess.

i would have to agree with the 'best' part of apple ecosystem. 5 years of software guarantee on iPhone though is a huge difference - since apple cameras are already great, you will just need up-to-date software/updates over time. this saves you money as you wont need to upgrade too often.

after years using android, i switched over to apple completely (w/ a macbook air, ipad, airpods, the whole shabang)... but after about two years with my iphone, for some reason i just don't like it anymore haha. i'm switching back to android in the new year for a couple reasons: 1) i only really use things like airdrop between my ipad and mac air, never really used those features with my iphone 2) the apple device line up just seem so bland to be now. new iphone every year, looks almost exactly liek the previous generation just with a better camera and refresh rate. this is the main reason i'm switching back to android for my cellphone use, i've had my eyes set on the new zflip 3 :O 3) also the restrictive storage space is ridiculous on apple products 😅

That was a pretty balanced review. Android offers too many choices and too many customizations for me to stay with Apple. I use a MacBook but my phone choice is Android. Love minimizing Google maps, KZbin videos, always on display, having a back button or easy gestures when using gesture mode. I just wish Android companies did a better, longer job of supporting their devices.

samsung used the widgets many years back..Iphone just implemented it in ios 14. Both have their pros and cons.Iphone gadgets are more lasting and value for money.There was a period after Jobs passing on.Cook did not have the vision to maintain the vision and lost out to China and Korea in their 5G technology. I used both phones as i have a few lines.Iphone was primary the main line till iphone 11.I took the note 20 ultra. I will said that the ipone 13 have catch up...so is the M1 chip on ios and apple OS.

i switched from a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to an iPhone 13 Pro (yeah, big jump) around 5 months ago after having only used Android (and mostly Samsung) phones for years, and even though there were some features i was missing, i don’t regret it plus, i was already using a MacBook, so it did make my life easier and some of the minor issues i had were fixed with iOS 16 like the lack of any haptic feedback on the keyboard or not being able to directly see the battery percentage without going to the control center there are still a few caveats, though, like how disorganized the Photos app is like, on my Samsung, each picture i saved automatically went to their respective album (e.g. photos i took to “camera”, pictures i downloaded to “downloads”, pictures from Snapchat to “Snapchat”, etc.), but they just all sit unorganized on my iPhone

So I just switched to iPhone last month and I could say that Android has much pros (for me) than ios. In Android, you can download Modded app versions while in ios, it’s forbidden. But for the Camera’s quality, iPhone has the best since I had Samsung j8 before I switched to ios. For storage, Android has the pro because of its flexibility, you can put memory card. But what I liked about ios was I was able to unlock the IG filters that are unable to use in Android 😆 Android’s batter lasts for almost 3 days while ios can only last around 12H to 1 day.

I have an S10+ right now and an iPhone 13 Pro Max that just shipped. I mostly made the change after 10ish years on Android for the longer term updates as well as that iPhone apps tend to be better designed and developed. A lot of that is due to having a lot less devices to need to target, and with basically every device being on the same, up to date OS it's easier, Android is super fragmented. Worst case if I don't like it I have two weeks to return it. I used to be super into tinkering with my phone and customizing everything, running custom ROMs, etc. Anymore I just want something that runs great, and will for a long time. My S10+, which was a near launch device, already lasts under a day battery wise. I also have several work applications for my job that are available on mobile for iOS, but not Android.

Just what I was looking for. I wish I watched this before I ordered an iPhone 13 an hour ago. I hope I don't regret it. The pro and con of iPhone is Apple's ecosystem. I love that everything works together, but I don't look forward to buying another MacBook one-day just to keep that up. Also, (about the two ecosystems) the iCloud interface doesn't stand up to Google Workspace at all.
