Right now it’s an outright SLUGFEST between The Beths and Skating Polly for Best Band of the Late Twenty-Tens/Early Twenty-Twenties. They’re both 2 albums into what any reasonable person would assume to be their primes, and they’re going back for thirds! For The Beths, their third great album in a row, if they can pull it off, will finally slay Weezer and allow them to uslurp their position in the all-time-greats musical canon. Skating Polly’s third, if God wills it, will slay Nirvana and uslurp their position. The stakes have truly never been higher.
