@TheCultLeader In Chief If Africa wasn't destroyed by European colonial rule. Robbed of natural resources, people, entire species of animals, constantly invaded by foreign soldiers, constantly delivered weapons money to the most corrupt people in Africa, then Africa would be better. Look up King Leopold. Look up DeBeres Diamonds, look up colonization and every war in Africa. Go to any country and you find good people and bad people. Also what was the reason for that race being cancelled, at the last minute with no prior notice ? That's not right ! It must cost money for these poor athletes to get to a race and it's money they don't have to just throw away. I hope I hear this man wins something huge one day. The reporter on this story is just wonderful at connecting with the interviewees and asking all the questions I want to know the answers to. Very interesting story, and such a pain to watch and learn about the desperation that motivates many runners. And the frustration of facing so many competitors using EPO and other banned substances, not really leaving any way for those who wants to be clean. And much respect to Ade Adepitan for being a great reporter and for telling a story that he clearly has close to his heart - I'd love to see more documentaries with him. And finally, like many others, I wish Julius the best and hope that he found success!

What i love about these African long distance runners: they are very humble people. Not comparable at all with the western sporting mentality, where it's all about ego. Those guys have different motivations: because they want to escape poverty, because they want to reach something, but not because they feel better than someone else. A lot of western sporting people sink under the weight of their own ego and arrogance and even aren't available for their own fans anymore.
