I'm so excited to try this on my Ruby. The less time it takes the less I get bit(hopefully!). When I groom my dog and piggie I put the hair outside in an empty flower pot and the birds take it and put it in their nests so it's soft and warm for the baby birds.

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do. I showed up this past Saturday for my first day of volunteering and was the one that brought a bunch of cilantro and parsley. I was so surprised to see how busy you guys are and how much work is needed to keep this place running and the importance of dedicated volunteers not just people that come sometimes to volunteer. I loved spending those hours washing the piggies that came by for a shower and the love you put into this place. The love that you all put into this place. And im so happy that I’m making this an every Saturday thing to go and learn more about the bonding and hopefully help with the matchmaking once I’m fully prepared! You guys are such amazing organization and I’m so happy that im able and going to be able to put in so much more work and care into what you guys do. Happy to make this my second home as this is the piggy’s first home. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to do amazing things with you guys. The positivity and joy that you and everyone spreads is so pure and I’m definitely gonna buy more stuff for the piggies every time I go 😭❤️(edit: “but” to “buy”)

I found the best way was to trim to to basically the length of a short-haired guinea pig, and that would be so much easier with a clipper with guards. And that way you have a really easy time and don't have to worry about their hair getting long for quite a while! Especially around the butt.

I switch over to clippers a little while ago so much faster and easier. Also if you use the attachments (they look like combs) you can get the cut to have some texture to it and thin out the think hair that a lot of piggies have. 😀

I used to cut my silkie's hair really short, almost to american length. Always around the butt at least, but later I did it all around. I didn't have any shavers though so I quickly learned how to make it really nice with scissors. I always paid attention to when people cut my hair, haha. My piggie's long hair was always a lot lighter/greyer than the hair on the face. I thought it was really cute.

She should have stopped after she went around the piggy the first time when it was just touching the table. It had a nice shape and looked good but she kept going and made it look choppy and reminded me of Mo from Larry,Mo and Curlys hair cut lol. She should have kept brushing then shaving using the comb as a guide. I was surprised when you said she used to be a hair stylist! She did her best and with all good intentions and I love her for all she does to help and she is so knowledgeable about Guinea pigs it's amazing. Love the videos.💜🐹🐾🐽

Saskia have you ever had lavender tea? Its so good. Take fresh lavender & let it steep in a piece of cheese cloth. I use honey to sweeten. Just use the flower not the stems.

My poor truffle was so sensitive about his long hair, he hated his bum being touched, and was such a bugger to keep trimmed. He would of hated the sound of the clipper! But this is a good idea/reference for those who can cope with the noise!!! Will remember this for future pigs! x

I'm gonna try this on my long hair piggie after todays enclosure cleaning! I usually use scissors because I thought they don't like the buzzing sound but then my piggie doesn't like the clicking and snapping of the scissor either and this method is much faster and safer.

Be careful , you're more likely to nic them with clippers than scissors. Especially on the legs, genitals and stomach. Also you might try putting them on a small box or container (like a pedistal), so the hair falls over the side and you can cut it easier 😉. I am enjoying your videos!

This has nothing to do with the amazing haircut you gave this lovely piggy, but I have a question today I was in my small garden at work and it was going tons of parsley and dandelions and strawberry leaves mint and some type of grass I looked it up and it appears to be quackgrass or couch grass do you know if it is safe for piggies? I brought it home but wont feed until I know for sure!!
