The reason we’ve never seen a modern resurgence of Betty Boop in film or television is the same reason this movie fell apart, the rights to the character, image and name are all owned by different entities and none of them could come to an agreement, and unfortunately I don’t think the issue will ever be solved. A movie, a musical, and an animated series have all been announced in the last 10 years, but nothing has ever come from any of it. There was supposed to be a musical in 2012, a movie in 2014 and a tv series in 2018, and still, nothing. Not to mention the original cartoons have failed to be preserved by Paramount. Why Betty is treated like some C-list character is beyond me, she’s more than some sassy character on your favorite aunt’s t-shirt

Tbh im in my thirties, betty boop has always just been this thing on all my favourite aunts belongings. Car floor matts, cookie jars, towels, shower curtain, clock, random ceramics, salt and pepper shakers, cups mugs plates and bowls, figurines and models, clothing of all kinds. Shes always been in my life but i think ive only seen one animated short with her

This is beautiful it feels so classical I’m devastated we never saw this movie fully animated. We missed out on a classic animated movie for families to enjoy. Children of all ages and more. Here’s to someone picking this up and actually animating it.

Please tell me that this uncredited singer wasn't supposed to be Betty's voice. XD She's way too deep sounding and sounds nothing like her. XD (Was this singer only for a test singing the song? (I know sometimes they do that with different singers before the actual VA's in the final film sing it.)

Yes, this was a demo, so these were not the ACTUAL voices for the characters. The person singing here was a temp voice-- her name was Sue Raney. The two people who were considered for the role were Bernadette Peters and Mary Kay Bergman, both of whom could pull off the Betty Boop voice in a pinch.
